I went to my forever home on August 25, 2019!
Birthday:
January 19, 2012
What am I?
Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:
Red & white piebald, blue eyes
Weight:
61 pounds (as of 8/17/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages and have had all positive interactions. Loud noises frighten me, though. So I hope my home has bookworm children.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 7/14/19, Pet Harbor did an evaluation and exposed me to a cat. I did not show aggression towards the cat. I did not react when kitty swatted me, but I am generally afraid. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. While our evaluation was favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I previously lived with multiple dogs. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met other dogs around my size. I coexist with them, but I am unsure what is going on and why I have been jumping around. My focus isn’t on other dogs. Pet Harbor believes having another dog in my home will be somewhat comforting to me.
Owner Aptitude Level:
Shy dog experience preferred
History:
Along with others, I was part of a court case. Custody of all of us was awarded to the jurisdiction of our residence. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.
More About Me: Soft and fluffy. As beautiful as can be. And shy. Other dogs are fine. Humans frighten me. I really want to be with them, though. It’s like at 7 years old, I am learning life. The best home for me has at least one other dog and patient, quiet humans. If I hear a loud noise, I will run behind furniture to get away from the scary noise that I think could come after me. Once I am shown I am not going to get hurt, I will give you soft kisses. See? I am going to be a great, loving dog. Just need someone to spend time with me, understand me, and assure me everything will be okay. And did you know the rewards for working with a dog who has some shyness are immense? They are. Let me show you.
