Age:
1 year old
Birthday:
August 12, 2021
What am I?
Neutered male Siberian husky
Colors:
Red & white, one blue eye, one parti eye (both blue & brown in the same eye)
Weight:
46 pounds (as of 12/9/2022)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children up to age 9 and have been great with them.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told I am great with cats. On Dec 11, 2022, I was introduced to cats by Pet Harbor. I was completely unfazed by them. A different story when it came to bunnies, but the cats I ignored. Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I am great with dogs, including small dogs. The best home for me will have at least one other dog around my size, my new BFF.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Michael J. Berkeley.
History:
Evicted by my family’s landlord, I landed in a county shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 12/11/2022 – The Gang
  2. 12/11/2022 – Two Littles

More About Me: I have a nickname. It’s Showers. My foster mom says I shower everybody with love and kisses. So she calls me Showers. It makes me think of Rain, and I don’t understand it, but it doesn’t matter what she calls me. I’ll kiss her and love her regardless. I have been great with dogs and cats in my foster home, but I’ll let you in on a little secret. Although I don’t want to live without dogs, the real Valentine for me is people. I am in love with people. Are you my people? Don’t you want Showers?

More About Me: Must. Have. Belly Scratches. So, really, I’m an amazing guy. I have no clue how you could not possibly fall in love with me. The volunteers think I’m super sweet and gentle. In fact, when Pet Harbor was full but a volunteer met me at the shelter, they had to make room for just one more, me, because they feel I am awesome. I am so full of love for everybody. Well, maybe I love kitties in the wrong way, but I love all people and love playing with the dogs I have met. The only possible negative my foster mom can tell you is I countersurf, but I don’t see that as a negative. I mean, somebody has to clean the counters, right? I’m really an easy keeper. Vacuums don’t faze me. I’m a laidback, even-keel kind of guy. Like Siberian huskies should, I do have a job. My job is food transport. I pick up my food bowl in my mouth and walk around with it, whether it is occupied by food or empty. If it’s occupied, by the time I get it to our destination, it’s empty. So I’ve done my job. Please note, like window cleaning for some housekeepers, food cleanup is not in my job description. I’m merely a food transporter or, really, a bowl transporter. See what they mean? How could you not fall in love with me?

More About Me: Really, what my foster family has observed about me can be described in one word: sweetness. I have been kind and gentle to the children and adults, for that matter, in my foster home and have been full of sweetness. I really have been an easy gal. The little girl in my foster home can walk me. You know, I’m one of those you just say, “Awww” when you encounter. I enjoy curling up with my people. Please note I do not have to go to the same family who adopts Virgil. I am my own woman.

More About Me: Really, what my foster family has observed about me can be described in one word: love. They can break that down to snuggles and hugs and kisses and desire to be near. I really have been totally full of love since I got to Pet Harbor. My personality just shines. You won’t catch me without smiles and happiness. Casanova, that’s what they should have named me. Big hugs are my claim to fame, the bigger, the better. I just really love giving (and getting) them! My foster dad says I’m a softie. When I am not getting enough attention, I’ve been known to nudge elbows to make sure the people know I’m there waiting for attention! In fact, I’ve been known to dance with my foster mom and sisters. Ed Sheeran is better than Taylor Swift. Failing attention, I play. I love to play: play with people, play with toys, play with dogs. I just love to play. Oh, and I’ll tell you a funny little story about me. When there is an extra chair, I love to sit at the dinner table with the rest of my people! Amazing. That’s what I am. I dance. I sit at the dinner table. I love. I’ve even been gentle with foster puppies. Truly, what more could you want? So how about it? Can I give you a big hug and showcase the rest of my love to you? Roux was already adopted. I’m still waiting for my home. I’ve been with Pet Harbor a long time, and they keep telling me some family is missing out on one of the best dogs there is or best Casanovas, that is.

More About Me: So probably the word that best fits me is fun. Maybe that’s why I sideline as a clown. I, of course, am all puppy. That will keep you in stitches as it is, but I also would wear a red nose & big, floppy shoes to make you laugh if that’s what it takes. Puppies are carefree and full of antics. That’s me. I’m a mischief-maker, a clown, and irresistible because being a mischief-maker and clown, I aim to make you laugh. So let’s shorten the words and get at the fun!
