Age (approx):
8 months old
Birthday (approx):

What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, blue eyes
Weight:
49 pounds (as of 11/6/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told I spent quite a bit of time with a toddler in my previous home and that I was great with the child. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children up to age 6. My interactions with them have all been positive.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told I previously lived with one cat and ignored said cat. While a Pet Harbor volunteer was walking me, we came upon an outside cat. The cat took off. Although the volunteer thwarted my efforts, I was interested in pursuing the cat. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. While I lived harmoniously with one cat, that may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I got along fine with two dogs in my previous caretaker’s home. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met a few dogs. All my interactions with them have been positive, but I have had turmoil in my short life & am mainly focused on trying to figure out where I am and if I get to at some point have my own family and home.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for John M. Rigo.
History:
Due to a tragic event, through no fault of my own, I ended up with a wonderful caretaker temporarily, which became a permanent situation & an impossibility. So I ended up with Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
Coming soon!

More About Me: Besides groceries, what I need is a family who does not mind getting kisses from me. All. The. Time. My foster mom thinks I’m a really good boy. Of course, she’s right except so far I have not seemed to enjoy car rides. Everybody who has met me talks about how sweet I am, though. So balance is everything.

What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, one blue eye, one parti eye (both blue & brown in the same eye)
Weight:
56 pounds (as of 11/27/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I have been an easy dog & don’t try to barrel through them. Also, I give soft kisses. Even the youngest of children I’ve met have liked me.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 12/28/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. Although my handler did not allow me close enough to have an aggressive reaction, my reaction was pretty strong. So the best home for me would likely be without a cat. I barked at the kitties nonstop, but it could have been a play response. I sometime bark at dogs in play. I did maintain a focus on the cats that was not easily distracted.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with other dogs. During my evaluation, all reactions from me with other dogs were positive. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several dogs. Most of my interactions with them have been positive. I play nonstop with other Siberians! When I meet a new intact male, though, I tend to puff up my chest, so to speak.
Energy Level:
Medium-Low
Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Richard Morgan.
History:
A good Samaritan called animal control because I was in a backyard tied around a tree so tightly I could not move. I just sat there and whimpered. They rescued me and took me to the county animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.

More About Me: Such an easy keeper. Really, I’m just about perfect. Well, if you lived the life I lived before, you’d be grateful, too! I have a tiny bit of trepidation, but while I cower slightly, I simultaneously wag my tail ever so gently. And I’ll give you soft kisses, too. I also sing and have a most beautiful voice! The thing I love to do the most is have my belly scratched. Try petting me. I will always slink down into a position where you can reach my belly. I really am a fabulous starter Siberian. I had a growth on my leg removed the day before Thanksgiving. That means my carving started early. The biopsy results show it was a soft tissue sarcoma. There is a possibility it will come back. There is an equal possibility it won’t. But I’m fine. And what we thought was hip dysplasia turns out not to be. Xrays show at some prior point, I had a fracture in a rear leg that has healed really well, likely with a cast, but it’s something that has to remain unknown because Pet Harbor has no way to find out my medical history. Nothing affects my awesome disposition. Even my vet, who is not a fan of Siberians, thinks I’m awesome! And my foster mom thinks I’m truly amazing. Don’t you feel the same way?

I was named for Ryan D. Fitzgerald.
History:
I got myself in a bit of trouble committing chickenicide. So I went to poultry jail. Because it wasn’t my first trip to the big house, my keepers were going to be in trouble. To avoid that trouble, they signed me over to the jurisdiction. From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.

  2. 10/12/19 – Please, please play with me!
  3. 10/12/19 – I’m one of the three stooges

More About Me: Flawless. My foster mom tried to come up with a negative about me so I wouldn’t sound like a fantasy, rather than a real dog, but she just could not come up with any negatives. She fell in love with me quickly because I am just so amazing. Even the folks at the shelter from which I hailed fell in love with me. Don’t let other dogs know. I don’t want to be the object of their jealousy! My favorite thing to do is cuddle. Forget a time limit. There is no such thing when it comes to snuggling. If you stop petting me, I will nudge you. And if you sit on the floor, I will come and sit in your lap. Second favorite thing is playing with other dogs. So I really am an angel in the house, even when left alone in a crate. True to my breed, short fences won’t hold me, but why should they? Just so you know, my foster mom gave me a nickname. I think it’s kinda cute. You can call me Chicken Little. You know those movies where they shrink the people? I shrink the chickens, hence Chicken Little. 🙂 So if you’re looking for perfection, here I am . . . unless, of course, you are a chicken.
