Age (approx):
1 year old
Birthday (approx):
February 13, 2019
What am I?
Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, blue eyes
Weight:
35 pounds (as of 3/14/20)
Experience with Children:
Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I have been gentle and easy with all of those I have met. I have softly wagged my tail and asked them for kisses and petting. The very first day I came to Pet Harbor, I had a lot to say to them, but after that day, I’ve been very quiet. Even little children adore me and I them.
Experience with Cats:
On 3/14/20, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I barked incessantly, wagging my tail, and pawed at them to invite play. The cats wanted no parts of my exuberance. So the introduction was pretty short. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
When introduced to dogs in the shelter, I had all positive reactions. When I first came to Pet Harbor, I mostly ignored them. Now that I’ve been here a while, I’ve become more interactive & have joined the dog play circles. The bottom line is I can live with them or without them. Either way is fine. I have not knowingly had exposure to small dogs. Actually, most of Pet Harbor’s dogs have never seen small dogs.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Darya Lin.
History:
Running lost down a highway in Hilton Head, South Carolina, I landed in an animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.

More About Me: Rock-a-bye, baby, in the treetop. Funny how we Siberian ladies can twist things around to get exactly what we want. If you want to be held, pretend to be sleepy. Of course, getting my way probably is spurred by my inquisitive nature. Is it wrong to want to know everything, every little detail? Well, if it’s wrong, I don’t want to be right. I’ll just keep on keeping on. Wait. Am I in the wrong line of work? Hmmm. Let me think about this a bit. Nah. I’ll keep being the chief manipulator to get petted and whatever it takes to soak up the lovin’. The best home for me will have at least one child. The more, the merrier. Now would be a good time for me to go home. I can go to school at home with the children. I do that in my foster home, and I love it so much!
