I went to my forever home on March 21, 2020!
Age (approx):
1 year old
Birthday (approx):
March 10, 2019
What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, brown eyes
Weight:
42 pounds (as of 3/10/20)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told I lived with small children in my last home and was great with them. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I adore them, and they adore me. They seem to like how sweet & gentle I am.
Experience with Cats:
On 3/14/20, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I barked incessantly, wagging my tail, and pawed at them to invite play. The cats wanted no parts of my exuberance. So the introduction was pretty short. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I am great with other dogs. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several dogs around my size or larger. I have been great with the lady canines. In fact, I’m more at ease when there’s at least one other dog nearby, not that I’m uncomfortable alone. It’s just I love playing so very much with those of like body, it seems to be an added relaxant, kind of like Calgon in the bathwater. . . . or so I’m told. So yes, I love to play with the ladies a lot. I’m a Casanova. Boys, well, some are okay, some are not.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Sergeant Rodney C. Gillis, NYPD.
History:
I was running at large and landed in an animal shelter. I was adopted. Due to allergies, I was then placed in rescue.
Movies:
- 3/12/20 – The art or the science of the chase!
More About Me: OMG, I am so cute. How do I know that? My foster mom says that over & over again! She’s like a broken record. I’m one of those young pups everybody loves. I’m so squeezably cute and soft and cuddly and easy and gentle and quiet and happy and full of life and love. There’s just really nothing to dislike. What more can I possibly say? The very best home for me either has a female dog around my size living in it or at least one I will get to see frequently. Pretty much anything else goes. And did I tell you I’m cute? Another thing my foster mom says is my soft kisses are to die for.
