***In Heartworm Treatment***

Age (approx):
5 years old
Birthday (approx):
August 10, 2015
What am I?
Neutered male Siberian husky
Colors:
Black & white, blue eyes
Weight:
59.4 pounds (as of 8/25/2020)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children up to age 7. I have been great with them. They adore me because I don’t have hyper energy, but one child wants kisses & I don’t give many kisses. So she keeps trying to teach me the art of kissing.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 8/25/2020, Pet Harbor introduced to cats who were in cages when I was taken to be neutered. I was polite with them and easily distracted. On August 26, 2020, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I had no reactions at all. See video link below. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs. When introduced to other dogs at the shelter, there were no issues. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met multiple dogs, all around my size. There have been no issues except I had to put the annoying one who got in my face in his place. I really prefer people. Dogs I can take or leave.
Energy Level:
Medium
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Bernard E. Patterson.
History:
I was running at large and landed in an animal shelter. I was not claimed. So I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 8/26/2020 – A Kitty? Yawn.
  2. 8/11/2020 – Just a Day in a Shelter
  3. 8/11/2020 – Meeting Other Dogs

More About Me: Just about the best all-around dog in the world. I am happy, waggy, mellow, grateful, and loving. Someone didn’t take good care of me. My coat is in poor shape, and I have been groomed once so far, although that’s not enough. Also, I have flystrike on my ears. Though my history isn’t known, a story can be created from what is known. In addition to my poor coat and health issues, I am so grateful and happy that it appears I was neglected. I tested positive for heartworm disease and the presence of Ehrlichia. I’m so sweet and gentle, as quiet as a churchmouse. My foster mom is crazy in love with me. If you are looking for a Siberian who isn’t crazy full of energy and you just want to love on me, I’m the one for you. If you do not want a kissy Siberian, then I’m also the one for you. My foster grandma thinks I’m a dream to walk also.

Please note I am in heartworm treatment and will be able to be formally adopted soon, but don’t let that stop you from applying to adopt from Pet Harbor now! If I’m the right one for you, the date won’t matter. And if I’m the right one for you, you can foster me until I am finished with treatment and then adopt me if you can get me to my doctor appointments.
