More About Me: Pet Harbor volunteers always scratch their heads, trying to figure out why dogs are homeless. Here I am a puppy, sweet as can be. My foster mom describes me as about as perfect as a pup can be. I’m a cuddly little girlie. Yet, I was running at large and not reclaimed. Nobody knows why. All they know for sure is it wasn’t my fault. Let me give you a couple of examples. I was so absolutely fantastic at the vet’s office that they covered my ears and told people not to let me know I am a Siberian husky. They wanted me to continue to be angelic. Secondly, I love water. I am SO good that I will just stand there while you bathe me. See what I mean? Perfection. Hopefully my next home is my last and where I am wanted. Is that your home? Are you my new family?

Read MoreThank you for the adoption of Clare! We were happy to sponsor her adoption donation in memory of our Siberian Husky Kaya.
Kaya first came into our lives in the beginning of 2013 as a very young (newborn) puppy. From the get- go she was mischievous, stubborn, and in complete control of us! Always a social butterfly, she thought everyone wanted to be her best friend, and never failed to forget what a beauty (read: diva) she was. She never passed up the opportunity to stop in front of a mirror and stare at herself. To say she was the life of the party doesn’t begin to do her personality justice!
As she got older, we cherished her desire to snuggle every night, and her willingness to find new adventures everywhere we went. She was a traveler with us, living in Texas, California, Hawaii, and Virginia. If given the choice, you would find her outside sunbathing or basking in the fresh air on a long walk.
Over the years her nicknames changed constantly, and the last few years we had with her she was more likely to respond to “Fluff” or “Fluffy-Butt” than she was her own name. To us, she will always be our ‘Sunshine” because of her constant smiles and love for life.
We hope Clare’s adopters will cherish the new memories they will make with Clare and find as much joy with her as we did with our sweet Kaya.

More About Me: Note: I am not underweight. Some dogs are oversized. Some dogs are just right. I am just undersized, a cute, petite little girly. These pictures don’t show how tiny I really am. The little girl in my foster home calls me “The Little Puppy.” I do have puppy behaviors, and I am tiny. But I am about a year old. Initially, when I have met adult people, I have exhibited a bit of timidity. In fact, when an adult tried to bring me in the house after being outside for a bit, I backed out of my collar. Then the child brought me inside with no issue. When I have met children, I have shown no timidity. I have absolutely been a child’s dog in my foster home. The little girl can walk me on a leash without issue. Other than children, my BFF is a 35-pound female Siberian mix dog. After the first day, I have been great with all dogs I’ve encountered, which helps my socialization. See, I gravitate to the smaller ones, which is good because they adore me, both the children and the smaller dog. I have been gentle and easy and so super sweet to them. The timidity I have for adults hopefully will eventually ease because I have found solace with children and dogs. At least that’s what my foster parents have observed.

More About Me: I have a nickname. It’s Showers. My foster mom says I shower everybody with love and kisses. So she calls me Showers. It makes me think of Rain, and I don’t understand it, but it doesn’t matter what she calls me. I’ll kiss her and love her regardless. I have been great with dogs and cats in my foster home, but I’ll let you in on a little secret. Although I don’t want to live without dogs, the real Valentine for me is people. I am in love with people. Are you my people? Don’t you want Showers?

More About Me: Must. Have. Belly Scratches. So, really, I’m an amazing guy. I have no clue how you could not possibly fall in love with me. The volunteers think I’m super sweet and gentle. In fact, when Pet Harbor was full but a volunteer met me at the shelter, they had to make room for just one more, me, because they feel I am awesome. I am so full of love for everybody. Well, maybe I love kitties in the wrong way, but I love all people and love playing with the dogs I have met. The only possible negative my foster mom can tell you is I countersurf, but I don’t see that as a negative. I mean, somebody has to clean the counters, right?

More About Me: Interestingly, somehow I got tagged at the shelter as a 6yo male. Well, it’s pretty easy to tell I’m a female, and my vet puts me at about age 3. Initially, I have exhibited a touch, just a touch, of timidity around people, but I’ve quickly gotten over it. You’d be shy and confused, too, if you were a girl and somebody gave you the name Lucas and told you you are twice your age. I have some silliness about me. I enjoy running and playing and am a bit mouthy, as good Siberian puppies should be. LOL I forgot to tell you I like to dance and twirl. Are there classes for canine ballerinas? I’m a friendly girl and just need a home where I’ll be loved this time.
