What am I?
Spayed female Siberian husky
Colors:
Black & white, bi-eyed (one blue eye, one brown eye)
Weight:
48 pounds (as of 8/27/2024)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. I am brand new to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met an 8-yr-old child. She is in love with me. I enjoy giving her kisses and am gentle with her.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 8/11/2024, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. At first, I was fine with them and wagged in interest. Then a cat jumped from a table to the floor, and my focus became unbreakable. Basically, at this time, the jury is still out on my ability to cohabitate with cats. If more information is learned, it will be posted here.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs except that I was great with them when evaluated in a shelter before coming to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve been fine with the dogs I’ve met. I have been quite playful with them and frequently roll over on my back with my belly and legs up for them. They are all around my size.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Paige Marie Farley-Hackel.
History:
It’s a long story, but the short version is my humans surrendered me to an animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:

More About Me: I have no negatives to report, and pretty much every positive attribute applies to me. I am a sweetheart. I love to cuddle and snuggle with the children in my foster home, and I’m extremely good with them. I am playful with them, too. I give kisses, and love being with them. I just don’t know what else to say except it really and truly is all hearts and roses.

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children up to age 10. I’ve been great with them. Let’s be real. I absolutely adored them. They even brought their friends to meet me. I was on Cloud 9 with all those children to kiss.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 6/20/2024, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. It was a pretty swift verdict. I cannot live with cats and keep cats safe.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs except that I was great with them when evaluated in a shelter before coming to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve been playing nonstop with all the dogs I’ve met. They’ve all been around my size. Pet Harbor has no idea how I am with smaller dogs.

History:
My history is an unusual story with some mystery, but I was turned into a Virginia animal shelter and then came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
Coming soon!

More About Me: Let’s talk about my mysterious beginning first. I was surrendered to a shelter in Virginia. I was transferred to another shelter because the person who turned me in lived in the jurisdiction of the other shelter. However, I had been microchipped. Tracing the microchip backwards revealed not only my approximate birthday but that I was originally in a shelter in Los Angeles, California. Here I am 1.5 years old and have already been in at least THREE animal shelters, one on the West Coast, the others the East Coast. Why? It’s not my fault, I can assure you. Despite all of that, I am a super happy dog. I have been taught commands at some point, but what I really love the most is giving hugs. I stand tall and wrap my paws right around you. Do you need a furry hug or two from a handsome and exuberant Siberian?

What am I?
Spayed female Siberian husky
Colors:
Black & white wooly, blue eyes
Weight:
53 pounds (as of 4/7/2024)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children up to age 10. I’ve been great with them.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 11/12/2023, Pet Harbor introduced me to kitties. I sniffed and then ignored. On 7/17/2024, Pet Harbor redid my intro to kitties. It failed miserably. The kitty was not physically harmed, but I did attempt to do just that. I cannot life with cats.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs except that I was great with them when evaluated in a shelter before coming to Pet Harbor. (See video.) Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several Siberian huskies. After initial shock the first few minutes, I’ve been good. Sometimes I get grumbly with them. I really don’t play with them much. I seem to prefer the company of humans!
Energy Level:

Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for John Katsimatides.
History:
Running at large, I landed in an animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor. At some point in my history, I was shaved. Please don’t shave Siberian huskies.

  9. 11/12/2023 – Sit!
  10. 11/12/2023 – Hello There!

More About Me: Smiles and love. Honestly, those two words describe me to a T. I always smile, and I always love. What more could you possibly want? Oh, wait. The children in my foster home asked me to be sure to tell you, even though my energy level might be considered medium-high, I am really gentle with them. They love me. Before coming to Pet Harbor, an animal shelter kept me alive longer than usual because the volunteers could tell what a great dog I am. Now I wait for someone else to realize it and become my new family. As a wooly Siberian, it is important you understand my grooming needs. Many Siberians dislike being groomed. I am fine except when you take that brush near my hocks. Then it’s on!

What am I?
Spayed female Siberian husky
Colors:
Black & white, brown eyes
Weight:
60 pounds (as of 4/7/2024)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children up to age 10. When I see them approach, I wag my whole body. I like people in general, but children seem to be those I like most. And I am a gentle dog. So children like me, too.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 11/6, Pet Harbor introduced me to kitties. I was interested in meeting them but quickly turned my attention to their bathroom facilities! Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs except that I was great with them when evaluated in a shelter before coming to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several Siberian huskies. I have been extremely submissive to them. I enjoy running and playing with them, but if they have an assertive play style, I go belly up.
Energy Level:

Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Scott Jordan Hazelcorn.
History:
Because my owner was unable to continue to care for me, I was put into an animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.

  2. 11/22/2023 – Meow Mix

  8. 11/04/2023 – Loving

More About Me: In my foster home, oh, I’m so sweet. I’ve been one of those belly-up dogs. You know the kind? Submissive, gentle, filled with love. I’m really a more-than-terrific girl. My foster mom says my favorite thing is children. I definitely light up more when there are children nearby, and I have been very gentle with them, too. Of course, I’ve been great with all the dogs, too. There’s really not much more close to perfect than me. Plus, I have funny ears, and, oh, that makes them so cute.

More About Me: Best winter dog around. You see, when people sit or lay down in my foster home, I wrap myself around them like a warm and toasty winter scarf or perhaps a warm and furry winter scarf. When my people are standing, since I can’t really wrap myself around them at that time, I give them hugs or I chew on them. I mean, I want to be as close to them as I can be, and they taste good. What can I say? I am all puppy, after all. So that means I have two speeds: full speed and zonked. You might enjoy my “zonked” speed, but you should understand all that means is I’m reenergizing. My zonked periods end long before humans generally want them to end, and it takes quite a bit to get me to that zonked stage. You dig? I dig. That means I’m holier than thou. It also means I am for sure a card-carrying purebred Siberian husky. That also means I must have an owner who is a leader, not a follower. I have been a sweetheart in my foster home – very playful and loving, but I also like to see what I can get away with … literally. A sock inside the hamper? Any goodies on the kitchen counter? Something interesting in the trash cans? Any cardboard in the recycling bin? A toilet paper roll that needs to be free of the paper that binds it? It’s all play to me. My best playful escapade is stealing my foster mom’s shoes from her feet! Everything I see is a toy. Your shoe? Toy! A pinecone in the street? Toy! Remote control? Toy! Your hand? Toy! These are actual things I try to play with in my foster home. If I can pick it up, get any part of it in my mouth, or dig at it – it’s a toy! So do you fit the bill? If you need a good winter scarf and want lots of loving and play, do I belong to you?
