What am I?
Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white woolly, blue eyes
Weight:
45 pounds (as of 5/2/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages and have let them pet me, tell me commands, and give me treats. I’ve even rolled over so they could scratch my belly.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 7/14/19, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. I immediately reacted, not in a good way, to the kitty. My home needs to be cat-free. (Note: No kitty was harmed in this test, and I wasn’t either!)
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with other dogs. When I was tested with another dog during my temperament test, I mostly exhibited play mode. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with dogs around my size without incident, but I prefer the company of humans. I do mingle with the other dogs and I do play sometimes, but most of my time is spent trying to schmoozle humans.
Energy Level:
Medium
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Stephen Louis Roach, Sr.
History:
Running at large, I was hungry. So I grabbed a couple of chickens. As a result, I landed myself in an animal shelter. After serving my time, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
  1. 6/9/19 – Pet me… pet me, please!
  2. 6/9/19 – Will work for treats!
  3. 6/9/19 – Is that food for me?!
  4. 6/9/19 – Can I meet the baby?

More About Me: Did you see my sign that says, “We Work for Treats”? How about the one that says, “Will Do ANYTHING for Some Attention”? I love people to the nth degree. I will pirouette, obey all commands, smile brightly, sweep the floor with my tail, get as close as I can get, make you laugh, whatever it takes to get some attention, any attention, from humans. Okay. Truth be told, I seek that same attention from chickens, albeit with a different outcome. I truly am the perfect dog for a family. I’m what you would call plug & play. All I want is people. That’s it. To me, being surrounded by people of all ages makes life divine. The only thing you need to know other than that is I am fluffy. I’m what in the Siberian Husky world is known as a woolly. So if you like brushing dogs, well, we’re a match made in Dog Heaven!

What am I?
Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:
Grey & white, parti-eyed (both blue & brown in each eye)
Weight:
37 pounds (as of 5/30/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met various children of elementary age and younger. I adore the children I live with in my foster home, and they adore me.  At first, I was all puppy & full of energy and would knock down little ones.  Now I am a sweetie who gives them light kisses.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 6/3/19, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. I did not react when a cat approached me.  After that, I went across the room and tried to play with a kitty, but kitty was not in a play mood.  So I simply left the area.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with other dogs. I passed my dog-dog tests. Since coming to Pet Harbor, sometimes I run with the other dogs.  Sometimes I play with them.  Sometimes I just sit on the outskirts and watch them.  I’ve had no negative interactions.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Anthony M. Ventura.
History:
Running at large, I landed myself in an animal shelter. After serving my time and not being redeemed, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
  1. 6/8/19 – I’m a happy girl
  2. 6/8/19 – Making new friends
  3. 6/8/19 – Exploring with my new friend

More About Me: Hopefully my new home will have children or at least visiting children. I need an outlet for my abundance of kisses. I love children. They seem to love my small size. I like adults, too, because, as you will see in my photos & videos, second only to kisses, I love giving hugs. Another thing you will learn from my photos & videos is I’m not a fan of cameras! But if I play my cards right, you’ll spend all your time on the receiving end of my love and not behind a shutter box. (For you younger people, that’s synonymous with camera.) I’m an easy keeper. I’m as good as I can be. When crated, I’m quiet. I know commands. Everybody who meets me falls in love. So do you dare to meet me? 🙂

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children, and I am brand new to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children ages 0-6.  I am good with them, soft and easy.  Loud noises and quick movement scared me at first.  I just needed a few days to warm up.  So the same will likely happen when I go to a new home.  Just have a bit of patience, and it will all be fine in a few days.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 6/6/19, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. At first, I shied away from the kitties. When a kitty came towards me, I backed away. After that, when another kitty came towards me, I did not back away. I also did not react in any other manner either.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I am friendly with other dogs. I passed my dog-dog tests. Since coming to Pet Harbor, it took me a few days to warm up, but once I did, I became the life of the party.  I constantly play with other dogs. They are all around my size, both boys and girls.  I am always in the center of playtime.

More About Me: My occupation is that of a D.L.C., a Dog Loneliness Correcter. You see, I love to play. I live to play. No playtime happens without Lyn in the middle of it. And no dog is allowed to be down or gloomy around me. Maybe I could moonlight as a fitness instructor. Rah! Rah! When I see a dog trying to mope, I must intervene. It is within my power to get said pup up & moving to the groove. Play, play, play. That’s the cure for what ails ya. I also check people’s loneliness quotient. I will sit in front of them, pushed against them, and look up at them, whether from the front or by flipping my head backwards, and make sure they’re happy. If they’re not, I will let them know it’s time to move to the groove! So if you’re a lonely soul or if you are someone who helps others get through loneliness and what a partner in that endeavor, I’m the answer!

Neutered male Siberian Husky

53 pounds (as of 5/3/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children of various ages.  I enjoy them, and they enjoy me.  I like to play, and so do they.  I do mouth, which means I play using my mouth on people. Even though I don’t mean to hurt, mouthing, especially on younger and older skin, can really hurt. Training is needed!
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats, but because I show too much interest in kitties, indicating I could potentially be a danger to them, Pet Harbor will not let me live with cats. On 6/3/19, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. I showed lots of interest in the kitties & barked incessantly at them, confirming the decision that I cannot live with them.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs. In my dog-dog tests, I was excited and attempted to entice play. My interactions with other dogs in my foster home have been great. I’m in my element with other dogs. They’re all my buddies, even smaller dogs. I enjoy nonstop playtime with them.  In fact, the best home for me will have another dog to be my playmate.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for FDNY's Lt. John F. Ginley.
History:
Because I ate a few things (like articles of clothing) I shouldn’t eat, I needed surgery to remove them from my innards. Because I needed surgery, my humans surrendered me. So I ended up in an animal shelter. From there, I was adopted to people who didn’t understand my breed. After 10 days, they returned me to the shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
  1. 5/4/19 – My human and little dog friends!
  2. 5/11/19 – Exploring new surroundings
  3. 5/11/19 – Will sit ever so gently for treats!

More About Me: A cheap date. No fancy French restaurant for me. I’ll eat your socks, underwear, dental floss, whatever you have lying around. Certainly it will be an expensive lesson for you after the date, but at least I will have tidied up your home! I also am amorous.  So maybe a French restaurant is a good thing!  I will jump in your lap & shower you with kisses.  Even though I do know some commands and am a pretty good boy, I’m all puppy. And just like all babies, that means everything in the mouth. So to adopt me, you must be ready for all that puppyhood entails! For example, one of Pet Harbor’s alumni got into an ink cartridge.  Yes, that means ink everywhere. He’s a year old. I’m loads of fun, but my adopters must appreciate all that means. Training would be a great idea for me! Since I love playing with other dogs and they will keep me distracted so I don’t eat your unmentionables, I need a home with a canine playmate. So are you ready for laughter, fun, infinite love & playfulness, and the good & bad of toddlerhood?

Weight:
62 pounds (as of 5/2/19)
Experience with Children:
Because I was running at large, Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. However, since coming to Pet Harbor, I have shown I love all people. Children adore me. It’s mutual. They can hug me all day long. Taller people get hugs from me, standing on my hind legs.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 5/8/19, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. During the test, I showed no interest in the cats. A cat ran during the test. I ignored the kitty. When a kitty was standing next to me at the door at the top of the stairs, I looked at the kitty while wagging my tail, but I made no further movement.
Experience with Dogs:
I was running at large with a German Shepherd Dog. Other than that, nothing is known about my history with dogs. I passed my dog-dog tests. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with dogs around my size. I have had no negative interactions with them. When I first got to Pet Harbor, they decided I was a people’s dog, not a dog’s dog. Now that I have been here a few days, I have shown I am both. I want to spend time with people, but when I can’t, I am in the center of play with the other dogs.

History:
For the crime of running at large, I found myself in a rural animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
  1. 5/4/19 – Just some exploring!

More About Me: Think of the sweetest thing you can. Think of the most obedient dog you can. Think of the most loving person in the world. Wrap all of that up in one package, and you’ve got Shira. I know commands, and I listen to them. I don’t have a favorite person. I make the rounds. Each person in the room gets to experience my love. I leave no person unturned. One mission. I have one mission. And that is to give all the love I can to everyone I can. When I’m not cuddling with someone, I enjoy playing with other dogs. Besides all of that, I’m a really good girl as well. I’m pretty much what you’d call a plug-and-play gal.

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children of all ages. I adore the children in my first foster home, and they adore me. They even locked me with them in the bedroom and locked out their mother!
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 5/8/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. I promptly tried to eat the kitty. Don’t worry. No kitty was harmed during this testing.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs. I did well during my dog-dog introduction. When I first came to my foster home, I bared teeth to show the other dogs I was the boss, but I did not react negatively any further than that and that only lasted a day. After that, it has been all good. When other dogs ignore me, I run after them, trying to figure out why they ignored me! Oddly, I seem to follow female dogs more than males. However, after a while in my foster home, things changed again. I seemed to become bossy to other dogs, particularly females, even those I met at PetsMart. All the dogs I have met are 20-80 pounds. Pet Harbor has no information about how I am with smaller dogs. In my current foster home, there are two male Siberians, and you will see in the videos how much I love playing with them.

  4. 5/4/19 – Pet me, please!
  5. 6/8/19 – Hi, hooman!
  6. 6/8/19 – I’m the pup of the week!
  7. 8/17/19 – Fake Left!

More About Me: Sweetness. My goal in life is to be petted by everyone. I will walk from person to person to get that petting! And if I’m afraid you’ll leave, I’ll just sit on your feet so you are planted for petting! When I first got to Pet Harbor, I was quiet and easy. Of course, we all know that’s subject to change since, like people, dogs change! So guess what. It didn’t take long for me to become peppy & playful. The sweetness is still there. That’s my core. I am full of love, and I love to give kisses, kisses, and more kisses. In fact, I will leap over whatever is in my way to get to you to shower you with kisses. Dogs, furniture, whatever. They cannot stop me! Where kissing is concerned, I’ve got ballerina leaping skills! And speaking of showers, I’ll let you in on a secret about me. Well, I don’t really think it’s a secret. I love showers. I don’t care who is in the shower. I’m gonna join them. I will open the curtain and climb right in. I’ll drink the water and also stand there and let it flow all over me. Yes, I love water. So are you looking for a super sweet water dog? If so, I’m looking for you!

Experience with Children:
I’m a puppy. Great with everything, subject to change as I get older. However, little children aren’t really happy with my puppy teeth, nails, exuberance, and plowing into them. They are, after all, just my size.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not place puppies to live with cats because Siberian Huskies commonly are not cat-friendly as they age. In homes with cats, Pet Harbor only places adult Siberian Huskies who have tested cat-friendly.
Experience with Dogs:
I’m a puppy. Great with everything, subject to change as I get older. Older dogs often are not thrilled with my puppiness. They definitely wear out before I do! If you have another dog who will tolerate me, that’s terrific because I love, love, love to play.

Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Luke A. Dudek.
History:
Because they said I chew my tail, I was dumped in a county animal shelter. The shelter called Pet Harbor. Since coming to foster care, Pet Harbor has not seen me chew my tail. They’ve seen me chew about everything else except my tail. I am, after all, a puppy, a normal puppy.
Movies:
Coming soon!

More About Me: Of course, I am like all the rest of the puppies in the universe. Cute. Cuddly. Love unlimited. Untrained. Full of sharp teeth and nails. Lots of pottying everywhere. Mischievous. Sleepy. Playful. Not a care in the world. Clay to mold. Entertaining. But guess what. Puppies do grow up! Pet Harbor has very strict policies with regard to puppy adoptions to ensure that we have forever homes. If you have applied to adopt from Pet Harbor and gotten approved, that does not mean you are approved to adopt me. You will need to talk to the folks at Pet Harbor about that.

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told I lived with children up to age 4 before coming to Pet Harbor and that I was playful with them. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met lots of children of all ages. I shower them with kisses.  Due to my energy level, I can knock down little children, but after I knock them down, I will shower them with kisses.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told I have never met a cat. On 12/8, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. With hackles up, I barked & lunged. For kitty safety, I cannot live with them.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I lived with another dog before coming to Pet Harbor. Then in my dog-dog introduction, I was uber excited & attempted to entice play. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have been very playful with the other dogs in foster care. They are 20-80 pounds. When I see small dogs at PetsMart, I am fixated, but in my foster home, I have become the caretaker of Dano & Ezra (puppies). I adore them & play with them a lot. You see, I believe I am a puppy, too.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Maxima Jean-Pierre.
History:
My owners put me in an animal shelter because I “frequently escaped.” From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue. I was adopted from Pet Harbor and returned, citing issues with the other dog.
Movies:
  1. 12/8/18 – Jolly young Maxim & old St. Nick.
  2. 12/8/18 – Let’s dance!
  3. 12/8/18 – Birds of a Feather.

More About Me: I’m all about that play, ’bout that play, ’bout that play, no trouble. Well, I’m a young Siberian. So trouble kind of comes with the territory. Full of humor, love, strength, and without trepidation or slowing mechanisms, I am always at the ready to shower people with kisses. In fact, like all good Siberians, I have a job. My job title is Johnny Appleseed. Instead of spreading seeds so new apple trees can grow, I spread kisses and love everywhere so happiness and joy will grow. Funny thing about me – I am so intensely focused on getting affection from humans & giving it back to them, I forget to be a Siberian. I ran out a door in my foster home & started sniffing around. Then my foster sister called my name. Oh, boy! Someone to show & get love. I forgot to run away. I ran right into her arms, jumped up, gave her kisses, and let her grab my collar. Good thing I love love! Another funny thing about me – I adore – ADORE – puppies. I am absolutely enthralled with Ezra & Dano, also available for adoption. But the funny part is when I meet small dogs at PetsMart, I seem to have a fixation on them that concerns the volunteers. See how funny I can be? Siberians generally stay in puppy stage until about age 3. Yep, I’m well within that puppy stage. So if you are ready for loads of laughter, slurpy kisses, and maybe have a canine playmate for me, let’s go home!

More About Me: I don’t understand why my humans thought they should put me in a shelter and felt they didn’t have time for me. I really don’t mean to be a bother. I try not to take up a lot of people’s time. I just want to have people and a home. Is that too much to ask? Please make sure when you have children, fur or otherwise, it is a forever relationship. We aren’t throw-aways. We are living, breathing creatures with hearts and lots of love to give. I’m a well-mannered boy. I will sit by you and push into you. I know a few commands, and you will enjoy watching me show off my knowledge. I will keep you laughing, and you will want to squeeze me all the time. I really am enjoying this thing called life & truly have no idea I am homeless. Are you my people with whom I want to spend all of my time? If so, couldn’t we go home now, please?
