What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, bi-eyed (one blue eye, one brown eye)
Weight:
49 pounds (as of 11/7/17)
Experience with Children:
My history with children is unknown. At Pet Harbor, I have met an infant and a toddler. My interactions with them have all been positive ones.
Experience with Cats:
My history with cats is unknown. Pet Harbor cat-tested me. I was friendly but nonreactive, even when kitty O’Grady smacked me. A few days later, I met some more kitties. I wagged and barked but did not attempt to harm them. Pet Harbor thinks I can live with kitties, but caution should always be exercised with Siberians interacting with unknown cats.
Experience with Dogs:
My history with dogs is unknown. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with many dogs, mostly Siberian Husky-sized. All of my interactions with all of them have been positive ones.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Christopher D. Jones.
History:
Running at large, I landed in doggy jail. No human came forth to claim me. So from there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
Coming soon!

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: The first important thing my dream home needs to understand is I need groceries! You can see in my pictures my ribs show. So forget dog bowls. I need a fork, a spoon, a knife, and a good cook! đŸ™‚ I am a sweetie. I have a touch of shyness, but it quickly dissipates once I am secure. My favorite thing to do is ride in the car! Unfortunately, I do not hold a driver’s license. So nobody will let me drive. I am content, however, to just look out the windows or curl up in a ball and nap. So what do you think? Are you a good cook? If so, may I please come home with you? I will be ever so grateful!

PARENTS:
   – Sire: Blu Mtn’s Arctic Hero, AKC #WS30619001
   – Dam: Blu Mtn’s Night Bird, AKC #WS35335202
Colors:
Black & white, blue eyes
Weight:
58 pounds (as of 2/19/17)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told my history with children is I lived with and grew up with 2 children my whole life. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met a toddler. I gave him soft kisses.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told my history is as follows, which makes for a good episode of Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Supposedly, I lived with a small Poodle and have always been fine with cats and dogs and people and, incredibly, chickens. Trust but verify. I do chase outside animals, like squirrels and flying birds. Pet Harbor cat-tested me. I wagged my tail to play. The cats were not interested. In fact, one of them smacked me, to which I was nonreactive.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told my history was I lived with a small Poodle, and we were friends, and that I am great with other dogs. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with many dogs, mostly Siberian Husky-sized, and have had only positive interactions.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Adam J. Lewis.
History:
I have had one home since I was purchased as a baby. My family gave up on me and put me in a shelter because of multiple escapes. If they would have kept me indoors with the rest of the family, there would have been no issues. I much prefer the company of people to being outside alone! Why is that a difficult concept for some people?
Movies:

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Man, I tell you what. I have an amazing resume. Why in the world have I been abandoned? Besides being gorgeous, I love, adore, and worship people. I’ve been through obedience class and graduated! I’m really a sweet, happy, loving boy. I want nothing more than to make my people happy. Supposedly I escaped before. Pet Harbor does not know what size fencing I had, but I will jump fences to get to my people if I am abandoned. It’s very simple. Realize that I am part of the family and don’t leave me outside without my family, and there will be absolutely no issues. You won’t find a better dog than me! Don’t have a blue Christmas or any holiday you celebrate without me. I’ll even carefully help you decorate. đŸ™‚

Neutered male Siberian Husky

Weight:
52 pounds (as of 11/7/17)
Experience with Children:
My history with children is unknown. At Pet Harbor, I have met an infant and a toddler. My interactions with them have all been positive ones.
Experience with Cats:
My history with cats is unknown. Pet Harbor performed a cat-test. I failed miserably. Kitties cannot live safely with me.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor has been told my history with dogs is my littermate (female Siberian Husky) and I lived together in a home. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with many dogs, mostly Siberian Husky-sized, and have had positive interactions. Leah, also available for adoption, thinks she is my main squeeze, but, to be honest with you, I like to shop around.
Energy Level:

Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:

History:

Movies:
Coming soon!

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: First, while I am not available now to adopt, you should know I will be available to physically go to an adoptive home after my treatment for heartworm disease is finished. If my new family is found, they can foster me until I am finished with treatment and then adopt me if they can get me to my doctor appointments. I am the dog at Pet Harbor right now with the most personality. Extra sweet, extra happy, extra exuberant. Whatever adjectives you can find for me should all have “extra” in front of them. I’m a prancer and a dancer. I will reward you many times over for loving me. My groomer says I am a perfect gentleman. Even though I marked her (Yeah, I wasn’t neutered at that time.) and ate a leash lying on a table, and tried to eat her kitties, she says I’m awesome. She gave me an A+ and said I’m the first Siberian she’s met who actually likes getting a bath. In my pictures, you will see some bare patches. That is because I was so badly matted, my groomer had no choice but to cut out some of my mats. It’s very important to keep up with regular grooming/brushing with woolly Siberians. It’s bonding time for us, I’d say! So are you ready to be as happy as the law will allow? I’m ready for you if you are ready for me!

What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Red & white, blue eyes
Weight:
46 pounds (as of 10/18/17)
Experience with Children:
My history with children is unknown. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with children of all ages. All interactions have been positive ones.
Experience with Cats:
My history with cats is unknown. When I first got to Pet Harbor, they did an initial test for my cat-friendliness. At that time, I showed no real interest in cats. On 11/9, Pet Harbor did a more formal test. I showed little interest in the cats. Kitty O’Grady smacked me. O’G is not a fan of dogs. I did not react to his smack. But then a cat darted out at high speed and ran under me. I nipped the top of his head. Until that point, I was fine with them. So I should be okay to live with cats, but Pet Harbor would recommend proceeding with caution (with ANY Siberian and a cat).
Experience with Dogs:
I lived with at least two male dogs in my prior home. I was temperament tested with two male dogs. The interactions were positive. When one of the other dogs got growly with me, I walked away from him. At Pet Harbor, I have interacted with several Siberian Husky-sized dogs. The only one I bully is the older male who thinks he’s bad when he isn’t. It is, after all, my job to knock him down a peg.

Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Alfred R. Maler.
History:
For the crime of running at large, along with two other male dogs, I was sentenced to time in the slammer. I was sprung and came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 10/28/17 – Embarrassed (You would be, too, wearing this Halloween costume!)
  2. 10/28/17 – Making Little Girls Happy!

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: True to my breed, I am a Working Dog. My job may not pay much, but it’s loads of fun. Bonus: Jobs keep Siberians out of trouble! I’m a weaver. Sitting by people is great. Then I crawl under their legs, under benches, in/out. See? A job. So you know what? If you ever thought about having an agility dog (entering a dog into agility trials), I’m the perfect candidate. I can go up and down and weave in and out with ease. We would have loads of fun! My foster mom calls me Alf. I don’t think I look like Alf. Do you? Well, I can’t help it he has a TV show. Maybe you can adopt me and we can do an agility trial so fantastically that we get invited to do a TV show, too! How’s about that!

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor has been told I have always lived with children and I am “ecstatic” to see children. In my foster home, I have displayed only positive interactions with children. In fact, I actually am better at listening when children are near. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children ages 0-4 and follow them around.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor performed a cat-friendliness test. I tried to back away from them and run away. Pet Harbor would caution, though, about relying too much on that because this may have been the first time I have ever seen a cat.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor has been told my history is I lived with one other dog. Since coming to foster care, at first, my tail went up and ears forward. When a group of dogs plays, sometimes I run up to them. Sometimes I run away from them. Sometimes I curl up in a ball. If other dogs are near me, I don’t interact, but I stay.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: For whatever unknown reason(s), I am painfully shy. Will my new family be rewarded daily? Yes. Most days I seem to progress in baby steps. Will my new family get gentle kisses from me? You betcha! Will my new family give me belly rubs? I hope so! Will my new family understand my shyness, know how to work with me to learn peace and love and not be afraid, have patience, and help me progress more and more? They must! Will my new family have children? Either way is fine with me! Will my new home have a fenced yard? There are pros and cons to either way. Either one would work. Although I progress positively every day, I am not a plug and play dog. Other things about me – I am very quiet. I am so far not as treat-motivated as other dogs. My fear seems to override hunger. I’m still getting used to new people and am especially uneasy around strangers. Hopefully, I will feel generally more secure once I settle into my new home. The bottom line is I need a very special home and family. It will take effort on my family’s part, but they will be rewarded in spades or, should I say, fur?

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Are you looking for a cuddly Teddy bear with lots of energy? Look no further. I am sure you have noticed I am cherubic and gorgeous, to boot. Right? I am a lover and player. I like to cuddle up with you and then jump and run like a normal pup. Oh, I am just so cute. Everybody loves me. Everybody. I am not the best choice for a home with tiny tots because I will run right through them, just because I love them! Training would be great! I would excel because I will love you and want to make you happy. I even don’t mind getting dressed up in costumes. Maybe you have children who like to play dress-up. They will love me! How about it? Let’s cuddle!

Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with children ages 1 to 4 and have displayed only positive interactions (kisses) to them.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 9/24, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. At first, I ignored the cats after an initial sniff fest. In phase 2 of the testing, however, I attempted to bite a cat’s tail. So it is not a good idea for me to live with cats unless they have 9 lives left.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs. At the shelter, there were no negative incidents in my dog-dog interaction testing. Since I have been at Pet Harbor, there have been no incidents with other dogs. I have engaged in play quite a bit with other dogs. All of the dogs in my foster home are around my size.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: So if you want to see my resume, I am happy to show it to you. On it, you will find that I have moved up the ranks to become Director of Recreation, at which I excel. Lest you think my head is swollen, please know I am modest! I’m also a dapper young fellow. There’s a bit of swagger in my step. My friends say I should model for CQ (Canine Quarterly, not to be confused with GQ, Gentlemen’s Quarterly, though both are about fashion and style). Kinda odd to me to be paid for something innate, but maybe it’s a good idea since I do need money for food. You see, I am emaciated, but I’m working on changing that! After all, the most stylish people in the world don’t have ribs showing! So back to my job. I love to play. My management style is to teach by doing. So when I play, will you play with me? My uniqueness is just the most adorable thing in the world. I put my paw up and circle it around, like I’m shaking hands, but I do it just to be cute. See? I told you I am stylish!

54 pounds (as of 9/14/17)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told at my former home, where I lived since I was a puppy, I lived with 3 children currently ages 9 through 15. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with children ages 1 to 4 and have displayed only positive interactions (kisses) to them.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told at my former home, where I lived since I was a puppy, there were no other pets. On 10/13/17, Pet Harbor performed a test for cat-friendliness. A cat hissed & swatted at me. I did not react. Another cat ran towards me. I actually moved away. So at least initial testing has shown I should be able to live with kitties.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told at my former home, where I lived since I was a puppy, there were no other pets. However, it was reported I went to doggie daycare and engaged in two fights there. No further information was disclosed except that I continued to attend the daycare. At the shelter, there were no negative incidents in my dog-dog interaction testing. Since I have been at Pet Harbor, there have been no incidents with other dogs. I have not engaged in play with other dogs, but I have allowed other dogs to sniff me without reacting. All of the dogs in my foster home are around my size.
Energy Level:
Prior owner reported my energy level as high. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have not exhibited high energy level, but I seem to be a bit unsure why I have become homeless.
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Robert T. Lane.
History:
My former humans relinquished me to a Virginia county animal shelter. Although I belonged to them since I left my breeder as a pup, they decided I have too much energy for them to care for me. My energy level didn’t change. So whatever the real reasoning was, I became homeless and sad. I then was transferred to Pet Harbor Rescue, where I wait for a family who will love me forever, not just when it is convenient. I was adopted, but I was returned one week later because our human could not handle the behavior as the dog who was in the home when I got there and I fought. Since coming back to foster care, I have not engaged in any fighting whatsoever.
Movies:
  1. 10/28/17 – Cougar

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: I’m a cheap date. Diamonds might be a girl’s best friend and food might be the way to a man’s heart, but my best friend and the way to my heart is tennis balls. I won’t sit for treats, but I will for a tennis ball! A happy girl, I really love people. I did not minor in humanology, though. I actually have a double major: tennisology and humanology. You can’t have one without the other. In the summertime, though, I have another best friend: playing with water sprinklers. So if you are ready to give me a permanent home, will allow me to hug and kiss you, and have a tennis ball or two, I’m ready. Let’s go home!

Pet Harbor does not know my history with children except that the shelter from which I came said I am good with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have interacted with children ages 1 to 4 and have displayed only positive interactions (kisses) to them. I even let the 1yo pet me while I tore up a toy. However, like many Siberian puppies, I mouth, and my teeth are sharp. So when I get into that play mode, it’s not a great idea for babies to be around me to be mouthed.

History:
Running at large, I landed in an animal shelter. I got adopted. I escaped that home four times in a week, and they returned me to the shelter. We don’t know what size fence they had or if they even had a fence. What we do know is that I am a Siberian Husky, and escapism is part of my breed. So this time I came to Pet Harbor.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: If you want to see a different result, why do you do the same thing and expect anything to be different? How is it possible I got adopted and escaped four times in a week? The first time, okay, that one was an accident. I am a Siberian Husky. We escape. The second one might cause a raised eyebrow. But the third? And the fourth? Come on. Let’s do it differently this time. I am a cutie patootie. I need either (a) a home with no fence but where my people will always take me out on leash, (b) a home where my people will always supervise me outside or (c) a home with a tall fence. I also need a person or people who like to cuddle. Maybe I am really not escaping. Maybe I just like to go on vacation. Got an RV?
