Fundraising goal has been met!!!
Rocha needs your help. Rocha came to Pet Harbor from a suburban animal shelter on the day she was scheduled to be euthanized. After she came to us, we discovered she had a tumor. On September 10th, Rocha visited her veterinarian, who recommended the tumor be removed and biopsied. An estimate was provided of $1,384.
Pet Harbor is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization. We are a breed-specific rescue organization for Siberian huskies. We are volunteer-based and run by donation. We have a network of foster homes throughout Virginia and the surrounding area. Since the COVID pandemic, adoptions have decreased and donations have dwindled. Frankly, Pet Harbor cannot afford Rocha’s surgery, which is why she needs your help. We saved her from death. Now we need your help to get her healthy.
Rocha is expected to be at our September 14 adoption event if you want to stop by and meet her!

More About Me: I’m a head scratcher for sure. My foster dad simply cannot understand how I am homeless. He says I’m an awesome dog, an easy, issue-free keeper. So who knows why I am homeless? I’m big on snuggling & cuddling. I don’t want much. A warm bed, someone to love me, a bit of food, and snuggle time. That’s not really asking for much, is it? Oh, about my age, when stray dogs go to animal shelters, they or their veterinarians make a guesstimate of dogs’ ages. There is no way to know for sure. The age listed here is what the shelter guessed. My current veterinarian thinks I’m a year or two older than that. But whatever age I am, I certainly want birthday snuggles every year! I truly am fabulous with people. If you are looking for perfection, there’s no reason for you to look further.

More About Me: So before I say what I have to say, I need to explain what I mean by it. Does that even make sense? I am kind and polite. I in the Siberian husky world could be considered boring. That’s the part I need to explain. I’m not boring. I enjoy having fun like the rest of them. I just am polite and kind about it. That makes me more easily adoptable than the others, don’t you think? I guess when my coat comes back in, I’ll be a handsome guy as well – not that I’m not handsome now, but then I’ll be the cat’s meow. Do you youngsters know what that means? If not, go visit the Googlictionary. Then come back and pet me. I’ll be politely waiting.

More About Me: Bar none, the easiest Siberian ever. Seriously. Perfect for newbies, perfect for those who want a non-difficult Sibe. I think the takeaway word here is “perfect.” Besides being easy, I am super sweet. Also, I am a melodious talker. September 10, I visited the veterinarian. We learned I am about 6-8 years old. So Pet Harbor will split the difference and call me 7. Also, I have a mammary tumor that as soon as it is financially able to do so, Pet Harbor will have removed and biopsied. Rocha-raiser information coming soon if you would like to donate! As for my vision, I have a cataract in one eye. It isn’t bad and will per veterinary advice be left alone at this time. If you are looking for an easy Siberian, which isn’t a common thing, I’m your gal! See? Perfect.

More About Me: There really is nothing I don’t love. Wait. Is that sentence appropriate or is it too many negatives? I don’t want to be negative at all. I want to be all smiles and love. Some may think my energy level is a negative. I sure don’t. I slow down enough to give and get kisses! I’m really a happy girl, all smiles and love for all.

More About Me: I have no negatives to report, and pretty much every positive attribute applies to me. I am a sweetheart. I love to cuddle and snuggle with the children in my foster home, and I’m extremely good with them. I am playful with them, too. I give kisses, and love being with them. I just don’t know what else to say except it really and truly is all hearts and roses.

More About Me: Let’s talk about my mysterious beginning first. I was surrendered to an animal shelter in Virginia. Because of jurisdictional issues, I then was transferred to another shelter. It was then discovered I had been microchipped. Tracing the microchip backwards revealed not only my approximate birthday but that I was at a prior point in my young life housed in an animal shelter in Los Angeles, California. Here I am 2 years old and have already been in at least THREE animal shelters, one on the West Coast, the others the East Coast. Why? It’s not my fault, I can assure you. Despite all of that, I am a super happy dog. I am exuberant, full of power and joy. In other words, I am a Siberian husky! I have been taught commands at some point, but what I really love the most is giving hugs. I stand tall and wrap my paws right around you. Do you need a furry hug or two from a handsome and exuberant Siberian?
