What am I?
Neutered male Siberian husky
Colors:
Red & white, blue eyes
Weight:
61 pounds (as of 3/15/2025)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have been great with all children I’ve met. They are, after all, youngsters, just like me.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 4/7/2024, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. The result is cats and I get along great in the wrong way. I cannot live with cats and keep them safe.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs except that I was great with them when evaluated in a shelter before coming to Pet Harbor. I have been great with all of the other dogs in my foster homes. I play and play with them. However, I have not always been nice to other dogs I’ve met outside my foster home. Pet Harbor has determined it’s a leash issue. When I am on a leash, I seem to have difficulty with other dogs, but even with those same dogs, in an appropriately fenced yard without my being attached to a leash, I am very playful with them.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Jasper Baxter.
History:
Running at large, I landed in a suburban animal shelter. My humans did not come to look for me. I was adopted. This time I was not given the care I should have gotten, and animal control took me back to the shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.

More About Me: Best winter dog around. You see, when people sit or lie down in my foster home, I wrap myself around them like a warm and toasty winter scarf or perhaps a warm and furry winter scarf. When people are standing, since I can’t really wrap myself around them, I give them hugs or I chew on them. I mean, I want to be as close to them as I can get, and they taste good. What can I say? I have two speeds: full speed and zonked. You might enjoy my “zonked” speed, but you should understand my being zonked is actually me reenergizing. My zonked periods usually end long before humans want them to end, and it takes quite a bit to get me to that zonked stage. You dig? I dig. That means I’m holier than thou. It also means I am for sure a card-carrying purebred Siberian husky. That also means I must have an owner who is a leader, not a follower. I have been a sweetheart in my foster home – very playful and loving, but I also like to see what I can get away with … literally. A sock inside the hamper? Any goodies on the kitchen counter? Something interesting in the garbage containers? Any cardboard in the recycling bin? A toilet paper roll that needs to be free of the paper that binds it? It’s all play to me. My best playful escapade is stealing my foster mom’s shoes from her feet! Everything I see is a toy. Your shoe? Toy! A pinecone in the street? Toy! Remote control? Toy! Your hand? Toy! These are actual objects of my play in my foster home. If I can pick it up, get any part of it in my mouth, or dig at it – it’s a toy! So do you fit the bill? If you need a good winter scarf and want lots of loving and play, do I belong to you? And let me correct you if you think I’m ONLY a winter dog. Springtime and summer are great, too, because I am a huge fan of hikes and walks.

What am I?
Spayed female Siberian husky
Colors:
Black & white, bi-eyed (one blue eye, one brown eye)
Weight:
57 pounds (as of 2/17/2024)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children up to age 10. I’ve been great with them.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. At the animal shelter before coming to Pet Harbor, I met cats in the cat room while the cats were in cages, which is not a true test of cat-friendliness, but I did not react to them. On 10/27/2023. Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I sniffed but had no reaction to them, even when they ran. Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs except that I was great with them when evaluated in a shelter before coming to Pet Harbor. I have been fine with the dogs in my foster home, but I really prefer the company of humans. They’re my favorites!
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Dora Marie Menchaca.
History:
Running at large, I landed in a suburban animal shelter. My humans did not come to look for me. So I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 2/17/2024 – Hugging Booth!
  2. 2/17/2024 – Let’s go Shopping!
  3. 11/22/2023 – Tummy Time
  4. 11/22/2023 – Meow Mix
  5. 11/12/2023 – Dora Jumps
  6. 11/12/2023 – Here, There, and Everywhere
  7. 11/12/2023 – Helene & Her Buds
  8. 10/27/2023 – The Best Hugs
  9. 10/27/2023 – Tush Push

More About Me: Picture a kissing booth at a county fair. How about a hugging booth? You see, that’s where I work. I man (or is it woman?) a hugging booth. And I dish out the best hugs. The. Best. Hugs. Okay. Maybe second only to a bear hug. But who’s going to hug a bear? Why, I’ll even improvise. When someone is seated at my foster home, I wrap my front paws around the person’s leg so I can hug the person. Of course, while they stand, I stand with them and hug them. Yes, I also give kisses. Besides my sweetness revelation, I’ve also been great with the other dogs in my foster home. You can see in the video I play using that classic Siberian butt slam. Oh, and my foster mom wants you to know a little secret. I’m easy to train because I have an insatiable appetite. I’ll do anything you want for food!

Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 11/22/2023, I was introduced to cats and tried my best to play with them, never tried to harm them. I was named for James F. Murphy, IV.
History:
In 2020, I was in an animal shelter. I got adopted. I had my family for over three years. Then they put me in another animal shelter with the reason “Can no longer care for.” From there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 5/11/2024 – Ground IV
  2. 11/22/2023 – Meow Mix
  3. 11/12/2023 – Fluffy Tails

  6. 11/12/2023 – Lucia & Her Buds
  7. 11/12/2023 – The Gang

More About Me: Something isn’t right. I don’t get it. How did I lose my home? I am super sweet. I am a super good girl. How could I for three years have had a family and home and then, poof, they no longer want me? Everybody I meet scratches their heads and asks what’s wrong with the people I had because they say there is nothing wrong with me. They call me doll and sweetheart a lot. They say those are good descriptions of me. So tell me, do you know what I did wrong? Wait. Maybe you will give me the chance to have a really good family this time because I sure will be the best girl!

  2. 9/28/2023 – Beautiful Run
  3. 9/28/2023 – Play with me! Play with me!
  4. 9/24/2023 – Toy Time

More About Me: Whirlwind. That’s a good description for me. When you mix up in a recipe that I am a Siberian and I am young, what is your end product? Klare, of course. A bundle of Siberian energy and loads of fun. I also, like many Siberians, have a growly sound when I play, which can be misinterpreted by those who don’t know what it means. Pet Harbor will try to get a video of it. So are you looking to add to your family a whirlwind of sweetness, love, playfulness, and energy? Then choose me! I’d also be a great running or exercise partner.

More About Me: Siberian huskies need jobs. Boredom creates havoc with them. Do I have a job? Of course, I do! I am a drum majorette. That person (or dog as the case may be) who leads the rest and prances with her head and tail held high and maybe carrying a stick, that person/dog, that would be me. I am a regular youngster, as playful as I can be. I refuel and play again. It’s a way of life for me. All toys are mine. I’m very good about playing with my toys and leaving things alone that don’t belong to me. My foster dad has taught me commands, but, remember, I am a Siberian husky. Whether I listen or not is a whole different story. The one thing he tries to teach me that I refuse to acknowledge is fetch. I will go after the ball. I just won’t bring it back. Doesn’t that tell you I’m a true Siberian husky? One cute trick my foster dad says I have is self-untangling from a leash. Isn’t that cute? I’m a loving little girl, too, very happy. I mean, how many sad drum majorettes have you ever known? My foster family says I melt into people as if I’m butter, and I love to go belly up and get tummy scratches.

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I’ve been great with all.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 10/3/2023, I was introduced to cats and showed strong, unbreakable attention. On 1/27/2024, I was reintroduced to cats. The first cat I saw as a toy and tried to play. The three other cats I saw after that I ignored. Two hours later, I saw rabbies. Rabbits are not my friend, but I did not have an issue with the cats. On 4/9/2025, I came back to Pet Harbor. I am fostered in the same space with cats and have been up close and personal with them without issue. Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Renee A. May.
History:
I came to Pet Harbor from a suburban animal shelter. I was in that same shelter once before as well. While with Pet Harbor, I found a home.
Sadly, cancer has put my person at the end of his earthly journey. While he will miss me as much as I will miss him, it was necessary for me to come back to Pet Harbor to find a new human or humans who will love me like my last dad did.
Movies:

  2. 12/02/2023 – Tummy Time
  3. 12/02/2023 – Good Girl
  4. 12/02/2023 – Continuous Wags
  5. 12/02/2023 – Bunny Hop
  6. 11/12/2023 – Renee Tummy Scratches
  7. 11/12/2023 – Helene & Her Buds
  8. 9/24/2023 – Sittin’ Pretty

More About Me: Happy, h-a-p-p-y. I’m like a billboard advertising happiness. That’s at my core. Is it possible to be sad around me? I doubt it, and I make it my mission to see to it that the world is rid of sadness. All smiles, all love and wags. That’s how I live. One of my favorite things in the world is tummy scratches. Oh, please, won’t you scratch my belly? I’m strong and active, playful, too, but my claim to fame is totally the happiness factor.

Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.

More About Me: Probably the most important thing I have to tell you is I tell you & I tell you & I tell you. By that, I mean, I don’t stop talking. I have a lot to say, and it overfloweth continuously. Please don’t think you will sleep. Sleep, after all, is overrated. Besides, I have lots of affection to give, kisses, paws, closeness, in very dramatic fashion, so much so that it’s bound to overshadow the nonstop speaking. See, what happened was I heard someone say, “speakeasy,” and I misunderstood. So ready for lots of cuteness and discussions? Then I’m your boy!

More About Me: Ages can be deceiving. I mean, they’re only a guess anyway, but I act like a puppy. I have tons of energy. Well, I am a Siberian husky. I guess since you are on this page, you already know that means energy. When I came to rescue, I was, as you can see in the photos, very thin. Fortunately for me, I have been food-motivated, and my foster home has been able to put some meat on my bones. In my foster home, my two favorite things behind food have been cuddling with people and playing with dogs. I love both of those things equally. Probably one more thing I should mention. I guess you know Siberian huskies are not quiet dogs. Yeah, I’m definitely a Siberian. I would not be a good candidate for an apartment or a library. Two words I just don’t understand are “Shut up!”
