Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children prior to coming to Pet Harbor. Since I’ve been with Pet Harbor, all people I’ve met, I’ve loved. In fact, my love is so deep I don’t want them to leave me!
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats prior to coming to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have not yet been introduced to cats. When more information is learned, it will be posted here. Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.

More About Me: Beautiful, right? Guess what. I also have an amazing personality. I am super sweet & love everybody I meet, at least everybody I’ve met so far, including dogs. My favorite pastime, in fact, is meeting new people. Getting belly rubs is a close second. My foster parents laugh at me a lot because I throw my toys up into the air and catch them on their way back down. Teaching me tricks is probably an easy thing to do because I am food-motivated. Well, there is that little thing called stubbornness, but I guess you already realize Siberians are stubborn or you wouldn’t be on this page. A secret thing about me is I like chasing butterflies, kind of like the beautiful song by Frankly Speaking about his dog (tissue warning) except please don’t have a Siberian attached to a retractable leash. My energy levels are chill at one end of the spectrum and turbo at the other. So how about it? Ready to take me on a butterfly chase?

More About Me: I’m kind of like a college grraduate who asks, “Now what?” I came to Pet Harbor pregnant. I had my six puppies. An outstanding mom, I raised them and sent them on their way to new families. Now I have become a puppy myself. Happiness, playfulness, and love. I snuggle up to my foster mom, play with dogs, people, toys, whatever, whoever will play. I’m sweet, a food critic, smarter than you are (Try giving me meds or a bath.), and like a brand new puppy myself. So since my puppies all found homes, isn’t it my turn? Why is mama always last? Maybe I’m waiting for you?

More About Me: Siberians are working dogs. Every working dog needs an occupation. I have a few. My main one is as a guide. When the grass is cut at my foster home, I walk beside the mower and guide it. My second important job is as a babysitter. My foster brother needs a babysitter. Well, not really. He’s not bad, but he gets afraid when there are storms and things. So I keep him distracted by playing with him incessantly. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it. My third occupation is quality control. When the refrigerator is open, I check out its contents to be sure there are no issues. I may randomly taste test, but good luck getting me to admit it (burp). My final job is that of a lover. It is my job to give you hugs and kisses. Well, at least that’s the experience in my foster home. Hopefully, I will be the same with you. I’m told dogs act differently in different environments, but the way I see things, if you have a lawnmower and a refrigerator, the environments are equivalent.

Weight:
28 pounds (as of 4/16/2023)
Experience with Children:
I’m a puppy. Great with everything, subject to change as I get older.
Experience with Cats:
The best choice for a home with cats is an adult Siberian husky who has been introduced to cats and shown a positive reaction to them. All Siberian husky puppies are cat-friendly, but they often are not when they are a few months old.
Experience with Dogs:
I’m a puppy. Great with everything, subject to change as I get older.
Energy Level:

Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed or puppy experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Tatiana Ryjova.
History:
Running at large, I landed in a county shelter. My humans did not come to look for me. I was adopted to someone who was unfamiliar with my breed. For those who love Siberian huskies, Siberian huskies are perfect, but not everyone loves us. Four days later, I was homeless again. So then I came to Pet Harbor.

  6. 4/10/2023 – Speaker
  7. 4/9/2023 – Thief
  8. 4/9/2023 – Puppy Play

More About Me: Pet Harbor volunteers always scratch their heads, trying to figure out why dogs are homeless. Here I am a puppy, sweet as can be. My foster mom describes me as about as perfect as a pup can be. I’m a cuddly little girlie. Yet, I was running at large and not reclaimed. Nobody knows why. All they know for sure is it wasn’t my fault. Let me give you a couple of examples. I was so absolutely fantastic at the vet’s office that they covered my ears and told people not to let me know I am a Siberian husky. They wanted me to continue to be angelic. Secondly, I love water. I am SO good that I will just stand there while you bathe me. See what I mean? Perfection. Hopefully my next home is my last and where I am wanted. Is that your home? Are you my new family?

Spayed female Siberian husky
Colors:

Weight:
27 pounds (as of 1/9/2023)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children prior to coming to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have gravitated towards children. They’re small like I am. I choose to spend most of my time with and sleep with the little girl in my foster home. Because I have shown timidity around adults and not around children, Pet Harbor is requiring my home have at least one child who is at the time of my adoption under age 12.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats prior to coming to Pet Harbor. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have been around cats daily and have shown no interest other than sniffing them. Initially, I engaged in a playful chase or two, though my interest wasn’t held long. Siberian huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if Pet Harbor’s evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs prior to coming to Pet Harbor. When evaluated at the shelter before coming to Pet Harbor, I was fine with the other female dog I met. When I first came to Pet Harbor, I did a lot of snarling and noisemaking towards other dogs. I gravitated towards the one dog who was close to my size. A few days later, I was and still am fine with all of them, but I do gravitate towards play with the dog closest to my size, who happens to be a female Siberian husky mix. Because of my timidity and the lack thereof with dogs, Pet Harbor is requiring my home have at least one other dog.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience preferred
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for George Eric Smith.
History:
Running at large, I landed in a county shelter. My humans did not come to look for me. So I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 1/15/2023 – Georgi Girl

More About Me: Note: I am not underweight. Some dogs are oversized. Some dogs are just right. I am just undersized, a cute, petite little girly. These pictures don’t show how tiny I really am. The little girl in my foster home calls me “The Little Puppy.” I do have puppy behaviors, and I am tiny. But I am about a year old. Initially, when I have met adult people, I have exhibited a bit of timidity. In fact, when an adult tried to bring me in the house after being outside for a bit, I backed out of my collar. Then the child brought me inside with no issue. When I have met children, I have shown no timidity. I have absolutely been a child’s dog in my foster home. The little girl can walk me on a leash without issue. Other than children, my BFF is a 35-pound female Siberian mix dog. After the first day, I have been great with all dogs I’ve encountered, which helps my socialization. See, I gravitate to the smaller ones, which is good because they adore me, both the children and the smaller dog. I have been gentle and easy and so super sweet to them. The timidity I have for adults hopefully will eventually ease because I have found solace with children and dogs. At least that’s what my foster parents have observed.

More About Me: I have a nickname. It’s Showers. My foster mom says I shower everybody with love and kisses. So she calls me Showers. It makes me think of Rain, and I don’t understand it, but it doesn’t matter what she calls me. I’ll kiss her and love her regardless. I have been great with dogs and cats in my foster home, but I’ll let you in on a little secret. Although I don’t want to live without dogs, the real Valentine for me is people. I am in love with people. Are you my people? Don’t you want Showers?

More About Me: Must. Have. Belly Scratches. So, really, I’m an amazing guy. I have no clue how you could not possibly fall in love with me. The volunteers think I’m super sweet and gentle. In fact, when Pet Harbor was full but a volunteer met me at the shelter, they had to make room for just one more, me, because they feel I am awesome. I am so full of love for everybody. Well, maybe I love kitties in the wrong way, but I love all people and love playing with the dogs I have met. The only possible negative my foster mom can tell you is I countersurf, but I don’t see that as a negative. I mean, somebody has to clean the counters, right? I’m really an easy keeper. Vacuums don’t faze me. I’m a laidback, even-keel kind of guy. Like Siberian huskies should, I do have a job. My job is food transport. I pick up my food bowl in my mouth and walk around with it, whether it is occupied by food or empty. If it’s occupied, by the time I get it to our destination, it’s empty. So I’ve done my job. Please note, like window cleaning for some housekeepers, food cleanup is not in my job description. I’m merely a food transporter or, really, a bowl transporter. See what they mean?
