More About Me: I’ll truly keep you laughing. I’m a comical fellow, but I like my naptime snuggles with my people, too. I am a handsome boy, but don’t let that fool you. I do also enjoy getting into trouble, but, like I said, I’m comical. So you won’t mind my mischief-making. But, hey, I’ve been with Pet Harbor a year. So I’ve calmed down a lot since I first got here. I’m a very easy keeper now. My favorite thing to do is to play with tennis balls. And when I say I like to play with tennis balls, allow me to tell you the extent of my enjoyment of them. Though I really love kisses, I don’t want grandma’s kisses. What I want from grandma is playtime with the tennis balls on the bottom of her walker. My second favorite thing is to eat paper towels. But my real #1 favorite thing of all time is to cuddle. And my favorite person is my foster dad! I can get in trouble one second and make you forget all about the trouble in the next. Ready for loads of fun and love? I adore people. Absolutely adore all people. Most dogs I adore. With some dogs, I feel the need to express my boss status. And, hey, if you like to play fetch, I’m that one Siberian in a million who will fetch and retrieve for HOURS. I am an easy walker on leash. I enjoy everything and everyone. You can tell because all of my pictures show my big smile.

- 2017 – See? I told you I have a lot to say.
More About Me: Life is all about happiness for me. For the past three years, I really had a blast. One day while my dad turned his back, without making a sound, I did what I do best and escaped. You see, we had a neighbor with chickens. Well, doesn’t everybody go towards KFC or Chick Fil-A or one of those places? That’s all I did: go towards the chickens. Then it was all fun & games because I got Dad to play Catch Me If You Can! with me. It really was loads of fun for me, but what it did for him was make him buy a six-foot fence. I suppose he got the last laugh on that one. Other things I like – playing with other dogs, playing with toys, talking, just having lots of fun. When it’s time to go to bed, I try to beat Vander to the bed and block him from jumping up. When we walk, he tries to get out in front of me and shove me out of the way. Really, we have lots of fun, but I don’t need another dog to have fun. I’ll be just as content with no other dogs. I create my own happiness. Like when Dad goes up to bed and I follow, I always remember to go back downstairs and pick out some toys to sleep with me and then run back upstairs. Well, I keep talking like Dad’s still here. Unfortunately, Dad passed away suddenly, and Vander and I came back to Pet Harbor to try to find new forever families. It gets a bit harder when dogs get to be my age. My wonderful foster parents are making me lose weight (That is NOT fun!) because it’s affecting my walking. I tire easier than Vander. So we’re trying Cosequin with me to see if it helps. I also take a medicine called Proin. Everybody wonders if I could jump a fence now. I would like the opportunity to test that. But, really, if Proin and Cosequin are all I have to take, then I think I’m doing just great at my age. I still love, play, and talk just fine. Oh, one more thing I forgot to tell you – my dad named Vander Ryka & me Shila. Oh, wow. I also forgot to tell you I insist on belly rubs before I go to sleep! Doesn’t everybody?
My 2017 bio: First and foremost, I have a lot to say. Just when you think I’m as quiet as a churchmouse, you’ll hear my melodious voice come out of what seems like nowhere. Secondly, don’t expect me to be serious. I’m all about fun and play. Thirdly, I give tiny, gentle kisses. Yeah, I’m super sweet, but I might quickly jump into play because I can’t possibly let you think I am at all mushy. I am not a dog you can leave in the backyard or in a 4′ fence, but if you are looking for some fun, some pep in your step, I’m the gal for you. Plus, I can live with children, cats, dogs, whoever. Does it get better than this?

More About Me: You can see below in 2014, when I first came to Pet Harbor, I had some hesitancies & nervousness. Then my Dad found me. I fell in love with my Dad, and he called me his good boy. I got rid of a lot of the nervousness because I was secure with my Dad. For six years, I had a really happy home & wonderful Pop. I was happy, calmer, less needy. Then one day Dad just wouldn’t move. I didn’t understand. I stayed right by his side until other people made me vacate. My world fell apart. All of my prior nervousness surfaced. So it will take me some time to build the confidence again. I just don’t understand why Dad left us or why I went back to my former foster parents. Where did Dad go? When Dad would take us for walks, I always shoved Starita out of the way. I had to be first! It was a cute game we played. We also played a similar game at bedtime. Whoever could get on the bed first blocked the other one. I’m sure you could hear the winner say, “Nana nana boo boo.” By the way, Dad renamed me Ryka & Starita Shila. Another thing about me – I always smile. Always.
My 2014 bio: The most important thing you need to know about me is I love my foster mom to pieces. I will love my new mom to pieces. Dad, not so much. My foster dad bah humbugs all the attention I give my foster mom. I think he’s jealous. Don’t you? When he has treats, I pay attention to him . . . long enough to get the treats anyway! And when he bikes with me, I pay attention. What more could he want? I’ll stick with Foster Mom! Whenever she calls, Vander listens! Wherever she goes, Vander follows! I lean in for belly rubs and attention. I really don’t pull, and I have some smarts about me. I do have some fears that cause me a bit of concern sometimes. If I am startled, for example, you may see me jump out of my skin. When I do, I might get snappy. I haven’t bitten anyone, but because there is the chance my snap could end up that way, I can’t live with young children. Stability is something I really need since the instability of my life has caused my hesitancy & uncertainty so far. I must tell you a secret. I love salmon treats. Maybe you could take me fishing in Alaska or just go catch me a salmon up there or even at the local supermarket if plans A and B didn’t suit you?
