Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On August 26, 2020, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. My reaction was pretty interesting. I was interested in kitty, but I was also easily distracted. I drooled at a distance, but when I got close to kitty, I backed up. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.

Experience with Dogs:

Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs. When introduced to other dogs at the shelter, I was fine after an initial introduction. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met multiple dogs, all around my size. Initially, I was fine with all of them! Twenty-four hours later, I decided I was going to be mean to the other females (I am not yet spayed.). Then a few days later, I’m back to being wonderful with them all. Every lady is entitled to a bitch session, right?

History:

I was running at large (I was in season at the time.) and landed in an animal shelter. I was not claimed, but it is known who my family was. I am in all probability a littermate to Vincent, also a Pet Harbor dog, who found a home.

More About Me: The first thing you should know about me is I am all puppy with all that entails! Never a dull moment. If it’s there, I’m in it. Second thing you should know, I’ll shower you with more love & kisses than you could possibly desire in an effort to forgive whatever I just did. And, the third main ingredient that stirs together to make Dianne is I love — did I say LOVE loudly enough? — water. Yes, I LOVE playing in water. I will go to great lengths to find bodies of water. As with all good Siberians, I do have an occupation. I am a toy surgeon. I perform surgery on toys. I remove all of their guts. Thankfully, they’re not bloody! Oh, and I do have a secret. My foster mom says one of the most beautiful sights she has ever seen in her entire life is watching me run. It’s picturesque, she says, whatever that means. I really don’t care what words mean as long as I have three things: people to love, water, and toys. Simple gal, aren’t I? Pet Harbor was told I previously lived with children with disabilities and was good with them. I am brand new to Pet Harbor, and I have met children up to age 7 since coming here and have been great with them.

Experience with Cats:

Because I have ended a kitty’s life, I certainly cannot live with them.

Experience with Dogs:

I was fine with a dog in an adoptive home before coming to Pet Harbor until I wasn’t. When introduced to dogs at the shelter, I was fine. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have been fine with the 5 other dogs, all Siberians, I’ve met. When I go for walks, I greet other dogs well and initiate play with about 70% of them. With the other 30%, I growl.

History:

First, I was in a shelter because I was running at large. I then was adopted. They also had a cat. Unfortunately, when kitty ran, I ended kitty’s life. I went back to the shelter. I got adopted again. I was fine with their other dog, also a Siberian, and then I wasn’t. I went back to the shelter. Then I came to Pet Harbor.

More About Me: Polite and kind. Well-mannered. You could take me to the country club for dinner. I’ll behave. I do have one demand. I MUST have two walks a day: AM & PM. And if I don’t get them, you will quickly know. I will stand in your face and whine until I get them. Okay. Maybe I should rephrase. As long as I get my two walks, I am polite, kind, and well-mannered. Check out my video, and you will see & hear me politely request my morning walk! I’m not super confident. I am slow to warm up to new things and am easily distracted. Not big on kissing. I’m too refined for that. Well, most of the time. I do have a side of me that’s immense fun. That’s because I get a case of the zoomies and will run and run and run around a fenced yard, playing “Gotcha!” and “Keep away!” I’m also content to play with toys alone. So if you ask me, I’m pretty adaptable. My foster mom says I’m an easy keeper . . . as long as I get my two daily walks! Pet Harbor was told I previously lived with children under age 7 but that I was not good with them. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children up to age 7 and have been perfectly fine with them. Conclusion: If children know how to treat animals, there is no issue. Something happened in my recent home that made me dislike THOSE children.

Experience with Cats:

Prior to my home of the past two months, I lived with cats in perfect harmony. These two months I did not live with other animals. At the shelter before coming to Pet Harbor, I ignored cats in cages. On 8/10/20, Pet Harbor introduced me to kitties. I was great with them. They’re my friends. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.

Prior to my home of the past two months, I lived with at least one dog in perfect harmony. These two months I did not live with other animals. When introduced to dogs at the shelter, all my reactions were positive. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have been fine with the three other dogs, all Siberians, I’ve met.

History:

My owner, as far as is known, my first owner, two months ago gave me away via an online ad to a family. That family surrendered me to an animal shelter after two months, saying I growled and snapped at the children over rawhides and bones and would not let them pass by my bed.

More About Me: Let’s start with I’m really sweet. There is not a dominant bone in my body. That’s for sure. I have an issue where I cry when touched. So I went to see the vet. Guess what. My issue is not medical. My issue is I’m afraid when someone is going to touch me, they are going to hurt me. I do not try to bite them or growl or any negative thing. I just cry and hope they don’t hurt me. If they keep petting me, I feel safer, but my people need to know I’m crying because I have come to expect that a touch means I’m going to get a beating. Pet Harbor wishes I could talk or that they knew more of my past because my cries with unknown origins are heartbreaking. You will want to just squeeze me tight until you think I have gotten the message no one will ever hurt me again and I can trust without crying. What better example of the need for rescue is there than me. If you’re interested in me, you must make sure you have researched just what a Siberian Husky is. I’ve lost at least one home already. More About Me: Overhearing a conversation about 2020, I decided I’m exactly what the doctor ordered. I give hugs. I give lots of hugs. I LOVE people. I follow people around just to be able to show them love: kisses & hugs. The best way to get through 2020 is hugs! So that means I’m the perfect remedy!
