What am I?
Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, blue eyes
Weight:
32 pounds (as of 3/24/20)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor has not introduced me to children yet. When they do, the information will be posted here.
Experience with Cats:
After I was rescued and before I came to Pet Harbor, I was introduced to cats in my temporary foster home. All of those interactions were positive. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
My experience is I get along great with other dogs, despite size & gender differences.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Narender Nath.
History:
Along with several others available for adoption, we came from a horrible beginning, yet are amazingly grateful for love. Thankfully, we were seized by the authorities. Our humans were put in jail. We went to the shelter, then the SPCA, and then came to Pet Harbor, each an important piece of our journey to safety. Read more about our beginning, including watching a video, at https://www.wcnc.com/article/life/animals/25-huskies-recovering-after-living-in-awful-conditions/275-0ff0da89-97fb-472e-a7be-afc6d28b58bc. Near the front of the video, I think I am the dog on the right coming in and giving kisses to other dogs. Later in the video, with the lady, I am sitting in the chair.
Movies:
Coming soon!

More About Me: Wanted: A family and a home. Must include at least one lap my family doesn’t mind sharing. I hope my home has at least one dog, but if it doesn’t, I will entertain myself. If there is a dog in my home, it should be a dog who doesn’t mind my rough play style. Other Siberians understand and enjoy that style. My family should enjoy cuddles & kisses because I’ve got plenty to share. By day, I play. All day. By night, I snuggle on laps. It seems the only lasting effect of my bad beginnings is I can’t get enough love & attention. Hey, a gal can make up for lost time, can’t she?

What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Red & white, blue eyes
Weight:
10 pounds (as of 3/17/20)
Experience with Children:
I’m a puppy. Great with everything, subject to change as I get older.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not place puppies to live with cats because Siberian Huskies commonly are not cat-friendly as they age. Pet Harbor only places adult Siberian Huskies who have tested cat-friendly to live with cats.
Experience with Dogs:
I’m a puppy. Great with everything, subject to change as I get older. Felix is my litter mate.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Michael Bradley Finnegan.
Movies:
  1. 4/22/20 – Three-ring circus!
  2. 4/22/20 – Where did they go?!

More About Me: Of course, I am like all the rest of the puppies in the universe. Cute. Cuddly. Untrained. Full of sharp teeth and nails. Lots of pottying everywhere. Puppy breath. Cute little “woos.” Mischievous. Sleepy. Playful. Not a care in the world. Clay to mold. But guess what. We do grow up! Felix is my litter mate. I am more mischievous than he is. I will find trouble. Maybe I am trouble. I have a magnetic attraction to whatever is in the room that’s supposed to be off limits to me. I don’t dart out doors, though. So that means my brother is the bad one. I’m the good one. At the time this bio is being written, I am anatomically not ready to be neutered. As soon as I am, I will be neutered. I can be adopted now, but I cannot go to my new home until after I am neutered. Pet Harbor has very strict policies with regard to puppy adoptions to ensure that we have forever homes. Oh, and my eyes are subject to change, too, but right now, they are sort of a bluish, grayish, goldish color.

What am I?
Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:
Red & white, blue eyes
Weight:
19 pounds (as of 3/20/20)
Experience with Children:
Because I am a puppy and use my mouth in play, which can easily tear fragile skin, like young skin or old skin, small children would not be a good idea for my home.
Experience with Cats:
I was introduced to cats before coming to Pet Harbor and was fine with them. However, please see Pet Harbor’s puppy policy. Since puppies can change their reactions to cats, adult Siberians who have been introduced to cats and shown no negative response are the best Siberians for homes with cats.
Experience with Dogs:
My best friend is Pena, also available for adoption. We play all day every day except when we’re refueling (sleeping). My new home will have at least one dog with a similar energy level to mine.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Lt. Ronnie E. Gies.
History:
First, running at large, I landed in a Virginia animal shelter. Then I was transferred to another Virginia shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 4/14/20 – Rough or Ruff, just the way I like it!

More About Me: Put in a bowl sweetness, love, all things puppy, energy, playfulness, quietness when crated, another dog or two. Mix it all up. What do you have? Ronnie. Something else you should know about me, I might just curl up in your lap and not move. So whether you wanted to do some gardening or walking or, well, pretty much anything else, you can forget it. My gardening is planting myself on your lap, and that’s that. I’m such a happy, energetic gal & already had surgery for laryngeal paralysis. Since it happened to me at such a young age, it was probably inherited. I’m fine, though. If you want to know what it was I had, I heard there’s this thing called Google. I think that’s a funny word. Maybe I can eat it right off the page!

Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:

Weight:
57 pounds (as of 3/26/2020)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told I am great with children. I haven’t been around children yet since being returned to Pet Harbor.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told I am not good with cats.
Experience with Dogs:
I’m great with the dogs in my foster home, small & large, both genders. Oddly, I seem to prefer the company of the small female dog.
Energy Level:
Medium-Low
Owner Aptitude Level:
Novice
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Dorota Kopiczko.
History:
Originally I was given up because I dig. Imagine that, a Siberian Husky who digs. I was adopted and returned 1.5 years later because “can no longer care for her,” whatever that means. Hope they kept their human children. Then I found another home. Well, 4.5 years later, my dad got an incurable cancer and left this Earth, leaving me homeless once again.
Movies:
  1. 4/2020 – Zoomies!
  2. 4/2020 – Come on over!
  3. 4/2020 – For me?
  4. 4/2020 – Easy Bathtime!
  5. 4/13/2020 – Eat Prey Love

More About Me: MY 2014 BIO: Sweet as I can be and bear cub-like in looks. Tail or no tail, I am a true Siberian Husky. I am a beautiful lady. Fantastic dog for a family with children. Gentle, sweet, and loving.

MY 2020 BIO: My occupation is that of a cheerleader because I have a built-in pompom and because I am a Chatty Cathy. If you are too young to know what a Chatty Cathy is, check it out on Google. The vet said I was likely born with my pompom tail. Nobody knows why, but it’s as cute as can be, isn’t it? For exercise, we can go swimming. I love swimming or taking long walks! I love naptime, too, but before I nap, I might put on my scientist hat and dissect some dog toys. And where it said in 2014 I was gentle, sweet, and loving, those are still good descriptors for me. I’m confused because I finally had what I thought was my forever dad & home. Then he went away to a different world, and I don’t understand. Please let my next home be my last one.

What am I?
Neutered male Husky mix
Colors:
Black & white, parti-eyed (both blue & brown in each eye)
Weight:
95 pounds (as of 2/19/2020)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told I lived with children and am gentle with even young children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I romp and play with them like I’m one of them, but I’ve been surprisingly gentle with them. I’m just a big goofball. I did knock down a 6yo child because I’m just so big and clumsy and full of love. The child wasn’t very happy about that but forgave me when I batted my eyelashes.
Experience with Cats:
On 3/15/20, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I ignored them. Siberian Huskies, which is 50% of me, tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I lived with other dogs & was fine with them. I am all about play. I play all day long. If there are other dogs, I will play with them all day long. If not, I’ll still find play. Boy dogs don’t understand me because I am big and clumsy, and I get right in their faces & don’t back down. But the ladies! That’s a different story altogether. If there are girl dogs around, you’ll find me always right in their midst. And the more, the merrier. Shai, also available for adoption, is my very best friend, but don’t for one second think I’m monogamous. Pet Harbor has no clue how I am with small dogs. The best home for me will have a medium or larger female dog.
Energy Level:
Medium-High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for A. Todd Rancke.
History:
The story was I was put into a county animal shelter because my family moved into a townhouse and decided I was too noisy to take since my prior neighbors complained about my voice. However, Pet Harbor uncovered more to the story. From the shelter, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
Coming soon!

More About Me: Pet Harbor does not take mixed breeds but was told I am a Siberian Husky. Then when I came to Pet Harbor, they found out I am something for sure but not a purebred Siberian Husky. I am a big galoot, as goofy as they come, for sure, an overgrown puppy who likes bending down to kiss little children. For those of you who remember Marmaduke, I certainly am not a Great Dane, like Marmaduke was, but I have the goofiness and the long legs! I’m really funny. Like an innocent child, I haven’t a concern in the world. I’m really all about fun and games. I bounce around, galloping, as it were. I’ll pick up a big ball, toss it in the air, turn on a dime, and go off in another direction towards other play. I really am such fun. I don’t really understand boy dogs. If they have something to say to me (like a growl or a snarl), I go right up in their faces and loudly ask, “Are you talking to me?” See? I’m all puppy, big puppy but puppy nonetheless. If you are interested in adopting me, understand additional qualifications and circumstances apply.

In my foster home, I chase the kitties. One kitty wants nothing to do with me, so I play with the other kitty. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with dogs. Since coming to Pet Harbor and meeting other dogs, I play nonstop with them. I love them!

More About Me: I’m 100% puppy in behavior. If you read above, you will see a theme: play. I play all the time. Let me repeat – all the time. That means I’ll steal & chew whatever I can reach with my paws. There is some question about my age. According to my former owner, my birthday would be November 11, 2019, but my vet thinks I’m about a year old. So Pet Harbor split the difference.

Experience with Children:
Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children up to age 6. All interactions have been positive.
Experience with Cats:
On 3/12/20, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I showed entirely too much interest in them. The best home for me will be cat-free.
Experience with Dogs:
Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several other dogs, around my size or larger. My interactions with most of them have been positive. Shai, another female available for adoption, is my BFF, and I play with Todd, also available for adoption, and Shai all the time, but together Shai and I occasionally have been antagonistic to submissive females.
I play the field, though. I have an alternate BFF now: Darya.

More About Me: I’m an amazing gal. Even I will tell you that! I am also cute & goofy & playful. I am so cute you won’t care if I have selective hearing. Watching me play is loads of fun. I’m a doll. No, not like Barbie. I like to snuggle and spend time with dogs or people and play and have fun and play some more. Funny thing is Pet Harbor was initially told I was a boy. Not that it matters, but I’m not a boy. I am 100% Siberian girl puppy. That’s what I am!

Pet Harbor was told I lived with small children in my last home and was great with them. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I adore them, and they adore me. They seem to like how sweet & gentle I am.
Experience with Cats:
On 3/14/20, Pet Harbor introduced me to cats. I barked incessantly, wagging my tail, and pawed at them to invite play. The cats wanted no parts of my exuberance. So the introduction was pretty short. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. Even if our evaluation is favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I am great with other dogs. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several dogs around my size or larger. I have been great with the lady canines. In fact, I’m more at ease when there’s at least one other dog nearby, not that I’m uncomfortable alone. It’s just I love playing so very much with those of like body, it seems to be an added relaxant, kind of like Calgon in the bathwater. . . . or so I’m told. So yes, I love to play with the ladies a lot. I’m a Casanova. Boys, well, some are okay, some are not.

I’m so squeezably cute and soft and cuddly and easy and gentle and quiet and happy and full of life and love. There’s just really nothing to dislike. What more can I possibly say? The very best home for me either has a female dog around my size living in it or at least one I will get to see frequently. Pretty much anything else goes. And did I tell you I’m cute? Another thing my foster mom says is my soft kisses are to die for.

History:
Tied to a tree by a leash, I chewed through the leash. From there, I went to an animal shelter. They located my owners. My owners did not fetch me. So, from there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 3/7/20 – Darya on the left, Hank on the right!
  2. 3/8/20 – Someone, anyone, please play with me!
  3. 3/8/20 – A broken leg can’t keep me down
  4. 3/10/20 – Come on! Somebody Wake Up and play with Hank!
  5. 3/10/20 – Sweet music by Hank & the Quartet!

More About Me: Man, I need to be the poster child for champion. Don’t sweat the small stuff. That’s my motto. Loads & loads of fun, I am. Love. I love dogs. I love people. I’m all about having fun. For sure, there is no such thing as a bad day when Hank’s in town. Since all good Siberians need a job, mine is protection. Since idle paws are the devil’s workshop, I protect my fellow canines (and humans) from being afflicted with idle paws. You know that thing called sleep? That’s really just breeding ground for idle paws. So I’ll surely wake you. It’s in my job description. Also, I sometimes like to chew things. After consulting vets & knowing my puppylike personality & pearly white teeth, Pet Harbor thinks I’m around 1.5 years old. Do you have dogs who share my levels of energy & love who live with you or visit frequently who would love to play with me? If not, that’s okay, too, because I love humans just as much. I think I’m a lap dog, too. My left rear leg was fractured at some point in my past. On the X-ray, my leg looks awful. Check out my videos, though, & you’ll see it doesn’t faze me one iota. After consulting our vets, it was determined the best course of action is to do nothing. The fracture is not new. So surgery isn’t a good option. I do use the leg (left rear). So amputation is not a great idea. My leg & I, we get along just fine. It seems strange to Pet Harbor that nobody asks about me. I’m the best dog at Pet Harbor, most handsome to boot. Even though I am super fantastic, my leg seems to stop people. Seriously, my leg is nothing about which to be concerned. I really am the best.
