What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Red & white, blue eyes
Weight:
47 pounds (as of 12/9/19)
Experience with Children:
At my foster home, I have met children of all ages and have been great with them. In fact, I have lots of kisses for the 3yo. You can call it cleaning her face of the food all over it if you want. I prefer to call it love.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told I was okay with cats but chased them. Then when I left the shelter, I spent the night with a family with kitties before I was transported to my foster home. They introduced me to the kitties, and I was fine with them. Then on 12/13/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a kitty. I mostly ignored kitty. I had other things on my mind. While the kitty did catch some of my attention, it wasn’t predatory attention. On 12/28/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to more kitties. I completely ignored them. I was more interested in the kitty litter. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. While I did not display aggression towards the cats mentioned here, that may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
I can take them or leave them. When I first got to my foster home, I was in my element with other dogs, but the longer I’ve been here, I’ve decided while I really love playing with them, I also like to puff out my chest and ruffle my feathers. So I can be Barney Bad Boy with other dogs as well. So my home can have dogs or can be dog-free. Well, I mean, if I’m there, it won’t be totally dog-free. Anyway, either way works for me.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Daniel M. Coffey.
History:
The short version is I was surrendered to an animal shelter when my caretaker was evicted. From there, I came to Pet Harbor.
Movies:
  1. 11/15/19 – I mean, I guess we can share
  2. 11/15/19 – Meeting a kitty cat
  3. 12/14/19 – Belly rubs and hear me roar
  4. 1/11/20 – I like human more than toy
  5. 1/11/20 – Let’s go!
  6. 1/11/20 – I give the best kisses
  7. 1/11/20 – Will you be my friend?

More About Me: Really comical. I love to play. Toss a ball and let me prove it. Grab a toy and let’s play. Squeak a toy and watch me fly across the room to the direction of the squeak. I am so much fun and will keep you in stitches. In foster care, I’ve been good with kids, cats, and dogs most of the time. I’m polite & know commands. Why does Pet Harbor require I go to an experienced home, then, you ask? Some Siberians make sounds that can be interpreted as mean but aren’t. My adopters must understand that vocalization. Here is a video that captures exactly what I’m talking about because my family needs to understand this behavior displayed by an otherwise perfect me! More importantly, how much time do you have to toss me a ball?

What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, blue eyes
Weight:
49 pounds (as of 11/6/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor was told I spent quite a bit of time with a toddler in my previous home and that I was great with the child. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children up to age 6. My interactions with them have all been positive.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor was told I previously lived with one cat and ignored said cat. While a Pet Harbor volunteer was walking me, we came upon an outside cat. The cat took off. Although the volunteer thwarted my efforts, I was interested in pursuing the cat. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. While I lived harmoniously with one cat, that may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor was told I got along fine with two dogs in my previous caretaker’s home. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met a few dogs. All my interactions with them have been positive, but I have had turmoil in my short life & am mainly focused on trying to figure out where I am and if I get to at some point have my own family and home.
Energy Level:
High
Owner Aptitude Level:
Young Northern breed experience required
Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for John M. Rigo.
History:
Due to a tragic event, through no fault of my own, I ended up with a wonderful caretaker temporarily, which became a permanent situation & an impossibility. So I ended up with Pet Harbor Rescue.

More About Me: Besides groceries, what I need is a family who does not mind getting kisses from me. All. The. Time. My foster mom thinks I’m a really good boy. Of course, she’s right except so far I have not seemed to enjoy car rides. Everybody who has met me talks about how sweet I am, though. So balance is everything.

What am I?
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Colors:
Black & white, one blue eye, one parti eye (both blue & brown in the same eye)
Weight:
56 pounds (as of 11/27/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met children of all ages. I have been an easy dog & don’t try to barrel through them. Also, I give soft kisses. Even the youngest of children I’ve met have liked me.
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats. On 12/28/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. Although my handler did not allow me close enough to have an aggressive reaction, my reaction was pretty strong. So the best home for me would likely be without a cat. I barked at the kitties nonstop, but it could have been a play response. I sometime bark at dogs in play. I did maintain a focus on the cats that was not easily distracted.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with other dogs. During my evaluation, all reactions from me with other dogs were positive. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met several dogs. Most of my interactions with them have been positive. I play nonstop with other Siberians! When I meet a new intact male, though, I tend to puff up my chest, so to speak.
Energy Level:

Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Richard Morgan.
History:
A good Samaritan called animal control because I was in a backyard tied around a tree so tightly I could not move. I just sat there and whimpered. They rescued me and took me to the county animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
  1. 10/10/19 – Look at me sit and lay down!
  2. 10/10/19 – A little meet and greet
  3. 10/10/19 – All explore and no play
  4. 10/10/19 – My food bowl test
  5. 10/26/19 – I like my toy
  6. 10/26/19 – Loving all the loving
  7. 10/26/19 – That feels so nice!

More About Me: Such an easy keeper. Really, I’m just about perfect. Well, if you lived the life I lived before, you’d be grateful, too! I have a tiny bit of trepidation, but while I cower slightly, I simultaneously wag my tail ever so gently. And I’ll give you soft kisses, too. I also sing and have a most beautiful voice! The thing I love to do the most is have my belly scratched. Try petting me. I will always slink down into a position where you can reach my belly. I really am a fabulous starter Siberian. I had a growth on my leg removed the day before Thanksgiving. That means my carving started early. The biopsy results show it was a soft tissue sarcoma. There is a possibility it will come back. There is an equal possibility it won’t. But I’m fine. And what we thought was hip dysplasia turns out not to be. Xrays show at some prior point, I had a fracture in a rear leg that has healed really well, likely with a cast, but it’s something that has to remain unknown because Pet Harbor has no way to find out my medical history. Nothing affects my awesome disposition. Even my vet, who is not a fan of Siberians, thinks I’m awesome! And my foster mom thinks I’m truly amazing. Don’t you feel the same way?

Experience with Dogs:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Ryan D. Fitzgerald.
History:
I got myself in a bit of trouble committing chickenicide. So I went to poultry jail. Because it wasn’t my first trip to the big house, my keepers were going to be in trouble. To avoid that trouble, they signed me over to the jurisdiction. From there, I came to Pet Harbor Rescue.
Movies:
  1. 10/6/19 – Jungle Gym
  2. 10/12/19 – Please, please play with me!
  3. 10/12/19 – I’m one of the three stooges

More About Me: Flawless. My foster mom tried to come up with a negative about me so I wouldn’t sound like a fantasy, rather than a real dog, but she just could not come up with any negatives. She fell in love with me quickly because I am just so amazing. Even the folks at the shelter from which I hailed fell in love with me. Don’t let other dogs know. I don’t want to be the object of their jealousy! My favorite thing to do is cuddle. Forget a time limit. There is no such thing when it comes to snuggling. If you stop petting me, I will nudge you. And if you sit on the floor, I will come and sit in your lap. Second favorite thing is playing with other dogs. So I really am an angel in the house, even when left alone in a crate. True to my breed, short fences won’t hold me, but why should they? Just so you know, my foster mom gave me a nickname. I think it’s kinda cute. You can call me Chicken Little. You know those movies where they shrink the people? I shrink the chickens, hence Chicken Little. 🙂 So if you’re looking for perfection, here I am . . . unless, of course, you are a chicken.

Spayed female Siberian Husky
Colors:

Weight:
31 pounds (as of 9/13/19)
Experience with Children:
Prior history is unknown. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have met toddlers & elementary-aged children. All my interactions with them have been positive.
Experience with Cats:
Prior history is unknown. On 9/29/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. I did a play bow & tried to entice kitty in play. I did not try to harm this kitty, but I was more playful than the kitty would have liked for me to have been. Siberian Huskies tend to have a strong prey instinct and often show extreme, even fatal, aggression towards cats. While our evaluation was favorable, it may not translate to all cats under all circumstances.
Experience with Dogs:
Prior history is unknown. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I have had positive interactions with every dog I have met. I just want to play, play, and play.

Owner Aptitude Level:

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Kerene Gordon.
History:
For the crime of running at large, I landed in a county animal shelter. From there, I came to Pet Harbor. The shelter believes I was hit by a car. In some of my photos, you will see my leg is wrapped. It was not broken. The wrap was there to keep me from chewing my stitches, but as I am now healed, the stitches are all gone.

Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children, but my prior humans indicated during the past two years, I lived with no children. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children of all ages. All of my interactions with them have been positive. I don’t care how old the belly scratcher is as long as I do get scratched!
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats, but my prior humans indicated during the past two years, I did not live with cats. On 9/14/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. I was intently focused on the cat and could not be distracted, which means I pose a danger to kitties.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with other dogs, but my prior humans indicated during the past two years, I did not live with dogs. I did well with male & female dogs in my dog-dog introduction. I have interacted with the dogs in my foster home in only a positive fashion. While our observations have been favorable, they may not translate to all dogs under all circumstances. Well, that has all changed. I have become not so nice to other dogs. If they come anywhere near my possessions, including my food, it is my duty to protect & guard that possession, which I do with a passion, just against dogs, not humans. I did engage in a battle with a female dog that was unrelated to possessions. Bottom line is I am a people’s dog, not a dog’s dog. And people I adore.

History:
Two years ago, I was in an online ad. Then I went to a family. They kept me two years. They also said I am three years old. They dumped me in a county animal shelter with the excuse “No time.” From there, I came to Pet Harbor. Through my microchip, Pet Harbor discovered I am actually six years old.
Movies:
  1. 9/1/19 – A quick stroll
  2. 9/2/19 – Treats, please!
  3. 9/2/19 – Hi, nice to meet you!

More About Me: Assume the position. What position, you ask? Why, scratching my belly, of course. I keep a leg in the air at the ready because that’s all I really want out of life: belly scratches. I will lie right on your feet if you are sitting. That way you cannot escape and must be my scratcher! Come one, come all! I really don’t ask for anything else. I am a sweetheart, mostly calm, & well-mannered. I just love to be loved. Oh, I am also super happy. Bounce a toy in the air, and I will bounce myself in the air. And dance! Boy, can I dance. I’m so happy I just have no choice but to twirl a bit. Really, though, I just want to be close to you with my belly and my toys. How about you? Is your scratching hand up to the task? Oh, there is one more thing I need. Calories. And I do love to eat.

Weight:
49 pounds (as of 8/31/19)
Experience with Children:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with children, but my prior humans, to whom I belonged 4 months, indicated during that time, I lived with children, ages unknown, and was good with them. Since coming to Pet Harbor, I’ve met children of all ages. All of my interactions with them have been positive. I give kisses!
Experience with Cats:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with cats, but my prior humans indicated during the past 4 months, I did not live with cats. On 9/29/19, Pet Harbor introduced me to a cat. While I might be fine with them, the volunteer who did the introduction felt I paid a bit too much attention to the kitty & she did not have an assistant. So she chose not to let me get up close & personal with the kitty. Basically, the jury is still out, and you enter at your own risk or, to be more precise, your kitty enters at his or her own risk.
Experience with Dogs:
Pet Harbor does not know my history with other dogs, but my prior humans indicated during the past 4 months, I lived with 3 dogs about 9 pounds each. They indicated I did well with them until they returned me to the shelter because I “played too rough” with them. I do play a lot. In my dog-dog introduction (See video.). I interacted with a female and male dog positively. In foster care, I have interacted with multiple dogs (22 pounds and up). 100% of my interactions with them have been positve. Yes, I play rough. The other dogs in my foster home are Siberian Huskies. So they play rough as well. That’s what Siberians do. So it’s all good. While our observations have been favorable, they may not translate to all dogs under all circumstances.

Named for 9/11 Victim:
I was named for Sandra Foster.
History:
I was in a county animal shelter, got adopted, then four months later got returned because they said I was “a good dog but keeps going after our 3 Maltese.” From there, I came to Pet Harbor. I was adopted from Pet Harbor and returned, citing issues with the other dog.

  5. 9/1/19 – That toy looks fun!
  6. 9/1/19 – Ball, ball, ball!
  7. 9/1/19 – I think I like her
  8. 9/2/19 – Hi, nice to meet you!

More About Me: Oh, boy, can I play! And do I ever! I believe I hold the world’s record for the fastest destruction of a rubber ball ever! Whether Guinness agrees with me or not, I neither know nor care because I can always find another world’s record to win if not that one! I like to pounce, jump, toss, and just be happy. I love to run & play with other dogs, male & female alike. I am a sweetie as well. I might take a kissing break or two, but if I spy a toy, please forgive me if I abandon you in pursuit of tons of fun! Oh, I could stand to lose a few pounds, but, remember, I love running & twirling, a.k.a. calorie burning!
